From the moment America entered the Second World War, we had an exit strategy and a criteria for the acceptance of surrender - which was unconditional.

The US hasn't fought a war since World War II with that kind of resolve.

No enemy can be defeated if they know all they have to do is outlast your resolve to fight.

You cannot simultaneously wage war and conduct peace talks.

Terms of peace can only be dictated by a winner.
