When humans go extinct: How life will evolve after we’re gone ?

In the episode what is not mentioned is that we would have no electricity after a solar explosion having passed the shield of protection

Our dogs.

They already have all our stuff. All they need to do is figure out how to use it

It is hard to imagine that human will not be living in this earth anymore in the future but it will happen like the earth will disappear leaving no trace of our existence
No. Our future has been predetermined. Man will always be. It is our destiny as sons of God.

After humans, after judgement day, life will be much happier. History shows that life lost happiness gradually as the number of people was going up. With the numbers down, life will be happy again. All life forms on Earth.

Maybe...just maybe...humans make it through tumultuous times and advance further spreading beyond one world or solar system.
Extinction would be less likely if we spread out.
Optimistic? Yeah, but we've made it through every predicted end time so far.
Other choice. Die out as a stagnant life form with no real knowledge or legacy or further evolution as a species.

Any answers to this would depend heavily on what caused humans to go extinct. A virus couldn't do it. So, a catastrophic, global event? And dogs would survive this...how? It's hard to imagine any pathways to the extinction of humans that don't involve some sort of cataclysmic event that would wipe out most of the life on Earth. Dinosaurs didnt have underground shelters, or the ability to make and store food, etc.

What I can imagine is some sort of environmental or viral event greatly reducing human population to small pockets of people. But these people sould all still have knowledge of technology and the fact that there are other continents and human populations all over the world. So I cant even believe the scenario of isolated populations of humans evolving into different species.

Earth will, because of humans negligence, become overheated and thus uninhabitable. About all that will exist will be some insects and at some point they may also die off.
The earth and a few insects and fish clams worms will survive.

Earth is paradise without humans. All nature. Beautiful. Ever go in the woods?

What about pigs? Their smart

Bonsoir, This was a program that i saw about the end of the world that would happen in December 21 2012. Good thing it did not happen and Ok it is in French but after a other episode show what it will be left after the human i don't have the episode. it show that everything disappear (a CD will take 100 years for a example) the plants ( nature) will take is right again.

As long as the humans are gone is the important thing, then the Earth can finally heal.

The tardigrades

True

The tardigrade, a superchampion that has nothing to fear from asteroids

Nicknamed the Tree of Life, Ginkgo biloba is one of the rare forms of life to survive the detonation of the American atomic bomb over Hiroshima. A ginkgo tree even survived despite being less than a mile from the epicenter of the nuclear blast on August 6, 1945. It is the oldest species of tree on earth, appearing 270 million years ago. So why didn’t the dinosaurs and all the other animals that followed them eat Ginkgo biloba and reap its benefits? Most likely because this beautiful tree smells like vomit, repelling thousands of generations of animals.

20 life forms that would survive a nuclear war

E Coli, Fruit fly, This parasitic wasp, the Lingulata, oriental cockroaches, ants, scorpions, worms, tardigrade, Pine Trees, bacteria, rats,

This single-cell organism can survive even higher doses of radiation than the scorpion. The amoeba is already useful to life by purifying water and regulating carbon dioxide. In a post-nuclear world, the amoeba would continue to play this role, helping the other living beings that survived.

We are here thanks to the first mammal who could eat plants that contained oxigen I'm not a specialist in biology but it's something like that

I think an avian species has the best shot at taking the top spot for intelligence, should humans die out. They're highly intelligent, and incredibly mobile.

Gotta give top spot to the oceanic Cetaceans
While they may be numerous ; its unlikely that their environment will allow them to overcome the foundational technological hurdle of mastering fire. Which is what really started it all for us...

Good point. Yes, there can be a whole bunch of animals running around, but until one of them figures out how to master fire, they will pretty much remain animals and probably won't form a civilization.

Another fantasy thread.

Man is here to stay. God is creating an ETERNAL Family.

Only the wicked need worry about "extinction."

That is irrelevant to the topic of the thread.

When humans meet their end , and they will, it is not a stretch to say that cetaceans will be one of the most intelligent species left.

Most likely we humans will have severely compromised the ecosystem for other primates so there is a very good chance many primate and mammalian species with high intelligence will be extinct before humans.
