When Exactly Were The Republicans With Obama?

I love this the left grousing about Republicans not working with Obama yet the lack of interest from Obama or the Democrats to work with Republicans after the 2008 election did not seem to upset them at all. I guess to some the definition of working together is do everything I want and don't question me.

Dear Mr. False Equivalency,

Please post a single, solitary example of the Democrats outright saying in public that their number one goal is to stop Bush from getting a second term.

Sincerely,
A Concerned Citizen

It's called the 2004 election ya dumb ass.

Ya like how the Dems in the Senate in 2001 and 2002 blocked every Judge they did not personally get to name. Remind us when the dems were with Bush?

It's up to the leader to lead. Not talking to the opposition isn't leading. poor bama.

It was Barack Obama's JOB to set the tone for bipartisanship in Washington. It was one of his many campaign promises which turned out to be empty air. In fact, Judd Gregg (R) had accepted Obama's nomination as Commerce Secretary before withdrawing over Obama's proposed interference with the Census.

But if you really want to know when Obama poisoned the well, it was just 3 weeks into his term when he signed the Stimulus bill into law... without ONE Republican House vote. Nancy Pelosi was the first to say "we won", and had Obama refused to sign, had he sent it back to Congress for a bipartisan bill, had he KEPT his campaign promise of bipartisanship... he'd probably not be in the situation he's in. But he didn't. In fact, he doubled down, saying "I won" himself during the healthcare debate. And then signing Obamacare which had been rammed through on a partisan basis and by procedural sleight of hand and legislative bribery.

Mitch McConnell was exactly right to say what he said. JOB ONE is getting this pathetic amateur out of the way. That's the only way this country will recover. Because he stands firmly in the path of any action which would improve our economy.

It's rather pathetic that Democrats whine about "obstruction" and never seem to notice that it's their Dear Leader who has brought them to an impasse. That's the nature of leadership, you know... getting the other guy to agree with your vision. Every time you guys bitch about "obstructionism", you put a spotlight on the fact that Barack Obama is no leader.
Not a single, solitary answer from the righties, just more excuses and deflections.

Funny how Clinton got bills through a Republican 2 House Congress. Ohh ya he did not start his Term with the Statement " I won" nor did he announce like Obama, Reid and Pelosi did that they did not need the Republicans. In fact Bipartisan talk from Obama did not occur till after the 2010 election saw him lose the House and a most of the control in the Senate. Then after 2 years of ignoring the Republicans he said "darn why can't we get along" while endorsing Reids blocking of every bill out of the House.

The answer is Obama , Reid and Pelosi set the tone and announced they did not need Republican support. And then they have to pay for it. But you dishonest lying sacks of overgrown shit already know that and are trying, as usual to rewrite history to support your lies.

How many Republican votes did Obamacare get? How many did Porkulus get? :eusa_whistle:

The LIAR is Barack Obama and every Democrat that shills for him. He LIED on the campaign trail about bipartisanship, about lobbyists, and even about healthcare. Or have we also forgotten that he was OPPOSED to an Individual Mandate?

The ANSWER is that your guy couldn't lead his way out of a wet, paper sack. He began his term giving the finger to Republicans, has maintained an adversarial and disparaging tone with them ever since, and now whines like a little girl because they're not lining up to powder his delicate little ass for him.

It's time for him to get the hell out of the way and let the grown-ups talk for awhile.

Obama didn't need republican support for his first two years with a democrat majority in the House and Senate so he never reached out to republicans. As a matter of fact the Obama was so offensive about it that republicans were literally shut out of discussions when the fraudulently passed "health care law" was being written.
Jeebus you're brainwashed functional morons... ACA is the Nixon/Newt/Dole/Heritage/Romney plan, and STILL total obstruction and fear mongering. Ditto Financial Reform, Jobs Act, etc etc. Obama is a pragmatic centrist, you dupes can't see the facts or intelligence with a telesope and a compass...

Jeebus you dupes are BRAINWASHED MORONS. No, the Dems DID NOT have control for two years, they got the 60th vote in the Senate when Franken was FINALLY seated 7/7/2009, lost it when Scott Brown was seated 2/4/2010. Also with Teddy dying, they hadit in SESSION for 24 DAYS.

CHANGE THE CHANNEL, Pub DUPES. JFC.

Yup, the cronyism and corruption "adults" who got us IN this mess, and kept us there. 30 YEARS of pandering to the greedy rich. Twit. LOL

The Republican meme, of late, has been that Obama had the political capital, help and support of even the Republicans when he got into Office, but squandered it.

I'd like to know, when exactly was this the case? Was it before or after they, as a party decided, on the night of Obama's Inauguration to do everything within their power to obstruct and stop Obama?

Was it before or after Mitch McConnell proclaimed that their number one goal, as a party is to make Obama a one-term President?

When exactly were the Republicans WILLING to work with President Barak Obama actually?

I can only speak for myself, but despite my disappointment in Obama's election I did hold out hope that he'd make good on many of the promises he made. Unprecedented transparency, taking a fine toothed comb to the federal budget but I suppose it's kind of hard to do that with no federal budget to comb, bills posted online prior to signing, healthcare proceedings on CSPAN, uniting the nation and the implications that his term would ring in a "post racial" America.

But then about 20 minutes after his inauguration he went on his apology tour and gave me a taste of what his wife had said she had lived with her entire life until his winning the Democrat nomination.

Five minutes after that he pulled the rug out from under our Eastern European allies on a deal that they risked much in agreeing to. Then conservatives were told to get in the backseat and the hits just kept coming.

Tell me when Obama respected his "enemies" enough to consider them as much as he does his radical agenda.

Link for "backseat" BS?

When asked about Bipartisanship shortly after taking office his reply was " I won" as was Reids. Until the midterms in 2010 he made absolutely no effort to work with or even hear the Republicans, he shut them out on every major bill and refused to force HIS party to even make a budget in 2010.

You can take off the rose colored glasses and I suggest you put on a wet suit for all the shit your shoveling.

Of course Rush Limbaugh would be happy to see a SOCIALIST fail in implementing his agenda. And THAT's pretty much what was said.
If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. And I would be encouraging Republicans to lay down and support him. Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails." (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here's the point. Everybody thinks it's outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, "Oh, you can't do that." Why not? Why is it any different, what's new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what's gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don't care what the Drive-By story is. I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: "Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails." Somebody's gotta say it.

Sadly, Obama hasn't failed ENOUGH at implementing his radical agenda, having rammed through alot more than we'd like to see. He's failed at revitalizing our economy, failed at controlling our skyrocketing debt, but on the subject of his tyrannous social agenda?... not so much.

Well, apparently Barack Obama at one point offered his butt up freely.
On Tuesday, I discovered a web page that had been scrubbed from the New Party's website. The web page which was published in October 1996, was an internet newsletter update on that years congressional races. Although the web page was deleted from the New Party's website, the non-profit Internet Archive Organization had archived the page.

From the October 1996 Update of the DSA 'New Party':
"New Party members are busy knocking on doors, hammering down lawn signs, and phoning voters to support NP candidates this fall. Here are some of our key races...

Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County
