When do you think I'll be able to get a "ray gun"(phaser gun)...The millitary is working on large scale ones now and so I'd expect them to grow smaller with time.

I want this to be hand held. Maybe supporting Obama's 5 year battery plan is something I should support? That would help this kind of tech get into my hands! Just pop a future Obama battery into it and fire!

Obama should fund a project to get "laser" battries(my op post) like the one above down to the size of phasers.

A handheld laser weapon is ludicrous even if the technical problems can be worked out for the simple reason that the effective range would be many miles in clear conditions making one able to torch things anywhere in a line of sight.
