When an emergency come up, you can set aside religious doctrine?

I have been enlightening, that if an emergency comes up and needs to be dealt with. Religion can be a side, switched off and this is interesting. Live day in and day out by the book of god, an emergency pops up. You hit that suspend button until the emergencies over. This is absolutely fascinating, every time you wanna pin something down. The goal post moves, I'd find it a little frustrating myself. Religion has an on , off switch based on emergencies? This stuff gets better and better every day.

Geez dude, I think you may be an emergency. I will pray for your recovery :eusa_angel:

Hey, sticks thanks for the concerns and please don't pray for me. My point still stands religion is the ever moving goal post, and adjustments of doctrines on a point by point bases depending on who's ever spewing religious minutiae. That the delusional followers of these fantasies made up by man to control weak minded individuals and profit from it.:eusa_whistle: but if you can control your delusion of fantasies of god, keep them at home and to your personal self. You would be beneficial to the world, as this would be accelerating making it a better place for all.

That was your point? Wait, you had a point?

If that's your point, thten you are wrong.

All this confirms is you are really confused. If someone is trying to kill you, or others, and your religion does not have a strict code of non violence, you are allowed to defend yourself even if it means breaking a rule about not picking anything up on one day of the week.

Come to think of it, the laws we live by in this country work the same way. Everyone knows it is illegal to speed, or to drive on the wrong side of the road, but the law actually allows us to do both of those things legally if doing so would save a life. In fact, you can even get a police escort that will help you to break the law under those circumstances. Does that make the people who do this, but who would never do this under any other circumstances, guilty of moving the goalposts because it is inconvenient?

There is no rational argument you can possibly make against anyone who breaks a little rule to protect a life because life is more important than rules.

Was it God, (Do unto others and love your enemies) that struck the match or was it man, (God told me to do this) who burned those people?

Those people were executed by GOVERNMENT. GOVERNMENTS that ALLOWED themselves to be dictated to by single religious entities. ALMOST ALL the religious persecution that you can cite occurred ONLY when religious power was BACKED BY THE STATE.. Inquisitions, Crusades --- all of that. Just like the crucifixtion of Jesus -- yup --- done by the STATE...

Which is why we set up a govt that could not do the dirty work or bidding of any religious org..

So what does this have to do with your OP? Did you ever give EXAMPLES of what you're whining about?

List of people burned as heretics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Was it God, (Do unto others and love your enemies) that struck the match or was it man, (God told me to do this) who burned those people?

Considering the Catholics presentation of god, it was man that killed those people.

In Europe?

The Catholic Church had influnce over the Kings of Europe--minus those kings that were of the Orthodox presuation(That is Eastern Europe like Greece and Russia)

If anything, the church had an interest in ridding themselves of these individuals if they allowed their name(or God's name) to be used in justifying punishment.

Monarchies are backed and supported by a religion. Monarchies are what ran the majority of nations in Europe during the times listed.

This list contains persons burned by various religious groups, after being deemed heretics. The list does not attempt to encompass the list of those executed by burning (such a one would include many other people such as victims of witch hunts or other persecutions). Some of the victims, such as Quirinus Kuhlmann and Jacques de Molay, were executed primarily for political purposes; the charges of heresy were simply official excuses. After they were convicted by the Church, they were turned over to the local government for execution because of religious restrictions that kept Church members from actually carrying out the executions.

I hope you are referring to the misguided one's. Or we have a generalized label I prefer not to be a party of, as it appears to be beneath my minimum standard of decency and and respect.:eusa_whistle:

gotta bingo here.. They been trying to get control of the Supreme Court of the United States. That way election don't matter as much anymore when, you can legislate from the bench god's will.

Not quite.. Don't think there's a single member of the Court that wants to transfer or lend their power to a religious organization..

What we have here --- is a paranoid delusional version of Secular Humanism...

Too smart for the personal discipline and humility that religion offers. That's what I LOVE about loud-mouth Humanists..
