There's a mom and pop pet shop the next town over I like to visit. A couple/few months ago, they had a box full of preemie hamsters. Solid black. I bought two and asked for females. They were about the size of peanuts in the shell. Cute!
The store owner lifted them up and peeked at their crotches and gave me two females.
Or so he thought.
I don't know if it is because they were preemies when we got them, but these hamsters have turned out to be the friendliest little hamsters I have ever owned. They come to the cage door and climb it whenever they see me so I will take them out and put them in their hamster balls so they can roam the estate. They never nip or bite. Very cuddly.
Well, just last night, I was saying how fat one of them looked. And when I gave her some food, she stuffed her cheeks so much she looked even more comically obese.
This morning, I received a very excited phone call. The fat one just gave birth to seven or eight babies. So I guess the other girl hamster has done a Reverse Jenner™.
I'm a grandpa!
The fat one is very skinny now.
