I once heard a historian describe Columbus as an "agent of the inevitable".

This is the thing most people seem to avoid altogether.

As humans evolved, and technology began to sprout, the technological world was never going to leave an entire hemisphere alone. It's simply human nature, and regardless of who we actually credit with making those early voyages and placing their footprint on the continent, it was going to happen, and the wilderness and it's inhabitants was never going to be the same.
 
I am hoping that antifa gears up for some real war and I get to watch them get clobbered.
 
When reviewing historical events, most people judge them by today's morals and values.

Not realizing that during the time they took place, the actions and behavior of people like Columbus were considered perfectly normal and acceptable. ...... :cool:
