"Keep a slave"? Did you know if 70% of people like me that entered the work force 45 years ago had been able to tell the Govt. that was deducting from our paychecks social security & Medicare to allow us to put into our local bank at a historic annual interest rate over 45 years of 3%.
Adding every year more based on increased salaries that by this time at my age 68 I would as well as all the rest of the "slaves" had accumulated over $500,000! MINE! I could have it to retire. Converted $300,000 to an annuity for 30 years and doubled what I get from Social security right now!
The other $200,000 set aside to pay health costs!

I and the other 37 million others over 65 would have ACCUMULATED at the minimum $185 TRILLION in wealth and that would be JUST from having our social security and medicare left to us to accumulate!

But people like you evidently HAVE NO idea of the power of compound interest and even less an interest in the ordinary worker (slave to you!) ever accumulating that WEALTH!

AND what is more stupid is YOU don't UNDERSTAND HOW IT WOULD WORK!

Much of your totally ignorant premises are blown away if you simply understood that a "slave" paid wages and forced to have social security /Medicare deducted BUT set aside in a simple local bank that paid 3% interest could ACCUMULATE over $500,000!

Seems to me that both Government and some corporations are at fault. Thing is? Corporations will fail if people stop patronizing what they do through the free market. Government officials keep getting relected by stupid people even though what they are doing is destroying the people complaining.
