Did anyone get a error message thrown saying that Limewire is under investigation when they tried to use it?

Limewire has become a magnet for malicious software peddlers.

I'd see to it that my anti-virus and firewalls were up to date before I went there.

Ahh now I understand. And understand why I did not know what it is. I avoid the illegal software sharing sites.

The site isn't illegal nor is the software and it's legitimate applications, unfortunately it's what some users do with it that's illegal.

Limewire's not a site. it's a client that connect by our machine to, if i recall, the gnutella network for peer-to-peer transfer of data.

So how can Limewire be held accountable for the actions of its users?

Actually, Limewire is finally being shut down. They have a court order to shut down within the next 6 months.
