What's the story behind your nickname?

my username comes from a nickname I was given back in the Summer of '73...

while hitchhiking in eastern British Columbia, got picked up by a coupla chicks in a '65 Chevy convertible...

local party girls...

anyhow... while we were going through the usual Q&A in such circumstances, one of 'em asked me where I was from...

when I said Louisiana, the one riding shotgun piped up "It's Bayou Bill...!"

I liked it and brought it home with me...

and, to this day, my friends from back in those days call me Bayou Bill...

Skye is one of the top locations in Scotland to visit. It is famous for its scenery and landscapes that will take your breath away.

I've never been there ....

I want my breath to be taken away....lol....one day may be.....:)

The Celtic Warrior Queen....I know some argue about the spelling, but remember it's all phonetic because they didn't use our alphabet and the spelling I used is from an old song about her.

A good friend of mine loved the song by Cruxshadows. I never cared for it, and he played it often enough to drive me crazy. He died serving our country in 1983.
I still occasionally raise a glass and toast him.

"Dry your eyes and quietly bear this pain with pride
For heaven shall remember the silent and the brave
And promise me they will never see, the fear within our eyes
(my eyes are closed)
We will give strength to those who still remain

So bury fear, for fate draws near
And hide the signs of pain
With noble acts, the bravest souls
Endure the heart's remains
Discard regret, that in this debt
A better world is made
That children of a newer day might remember
And avoid our fate

And in the fury of this darkest hour
We will be your light
You've asked me for my sacrifice
And I am Winterborn
Without denying, a faith is come
That I have never known
I hear the angels call my name
And I am Winterborn

Hold your head up high-for there is no greater love
Think of the faces of the people you defend
(you defend)
And promise me, they will never see the tears within our eyes
(my eyes are closed)
Although we are men, with mortal sins, angels never cry

So bury fear, for fate draws near
And hide the signs of pain
With noble acts, the bravest souls
Endure the heart's remains
Discard regret, that in this debt
A better world is made
That children of a newer day might remember
And avoid our fate

(prepare for battle)

And in the fury of this darkest hour
We will be your light
You've asked me for my sacrifice
And I am Winterborn
Without denying, a faith in God
That I have never known
I hear the angels call my name
And I am Winterborn

And in the fury of this darkest hour
I will be your light
A lifetime for this destiny
For I am Winterborn
And in this moment..I will not run
It is my place to stand
We few shall carry hope
Within our bloodied hands
(bloodied hands)

And in our dying
We're more alive, than we have ever been
I've lived for these few seconds
For I am Winter-born

And in the fury of this darkest hour
We will be the light
You've asked me for my sacrifice
And I am Winter born
Without denying, a faith in man
That I have never known
I hear the angels call my name
And I am Winterborn

Within this moment
I am for you, though better men have failed
I will give my life for love
For I am Winter-born

And in my dying
I'm more alive than I have ever been
I will make this sacrifice
For I am winterborn"

I chose this name because my favorite avatar at the time I registered was a pic of Amelia Earhart.

Someone else is posting with my real first name. It confuses me sometimes when I'm scrolling down looking for posts I made.

At least she's also a conservative or I might have a breakdown when I read "my" posts.
There really isn't any story behind it. Stud is just a name that fits.

Made a deal with the bride shortly after our first son was born. About fifteen minutes after I got home from work in the early evenings, after changing clothes and whatnot, she was off duty. The baby was mine and I'd feed him and play with him until it was time to get ready for bed, which always included a nightly bath, diapering, and getting him jammied. After that spent a few minutes with him in the baby room's rocking chair. I'd hold him against my chest rocking away for a bit and then hold him with each hand under his armpits, thumbs in front and fingers around his back while increasing my rocking pace, saying things like here it comes...here we go...it's time, etc. until the last rock forward at which time I'd spring from the chair, extend my arms over my head and yell BLAAAASTOFF! while twirling him around a few times overhead before gently plopping him into the crib. He, and subsequently his two brothers, loved it. They'd laugh and coo and goo goo with big smiles on their faces every night. That routine went on with each of them until they were just too big, didn't need diapering anymore, etc.

One day a few years later our oldest was about six and was looking for me for some reason, didn't know where I was in the house and said to his mom, "Where's blastoff?" And I've been blastoff to the three of them ever since.

My most favorite singer James Otto called me "sweet heart" in one of the first messages that I ever got from him online and so that is where JOSweetHeart comes from.

God bless you and James always!!! :) :) :)
