What's The GOP Plan Going Forward?

I have not hear a single forward-looking idea out of any Republican or Democrat.

I am a born and bred conservative who voted the straight GOP ticket until 2006. At that point I became so disgusted with the raving lunatics who have kidnapped the Republican party that I stopped voting altogether, except to vote on local measures on my state's ballot.

I would like a reason to vote GOP again.

So tell us, Republicans, what is the plan to bend the health care cost curve down if/when ObamaCare is tossed on the dustbin of history? What's the GOP plan? Anyone?

How is the Republican Party going to create jobs? Anyone?

What is the GOP going to do about Iran? Anyone?

What is the GOP going to do about the high price of oil? Anyone?

What is the GOP going to do about the rising cost of food? Anyone?

A hundred million voters want to know.

Stop obsessing over Obama's vacations and birth certificate and latest press conference and tell us what the plan going forward is.

Have I just stumped you? I bet I have.

Not even close, but your emotions are clouding your vision.

Start voting democrat. You obviously look to big brother to fix every wrong in life.

Some simple reversals in policy will correct the loss of the dollars power. That itself will correct a few of the items.

Iran and the health cost curve. Dumping obama care turns that curve downward. Iran, Flip a coin. Just what bag of magic do you think uncle sam holds?

Nothing, simply nothing, the GOP plan is as it always is, make vague promises and do nothing about any real problems. Remember the goal of the Right is to dismantle as much of the federal government as possible, the less government the better.

Romney has taken a forward stance, oddly enough, today he says Obama is "hiding something":

We plan on doing the same things that have ALWAYS worked.

Deregulation and tax cuts.

Iran and the health cost curve. Dumping obama care turns that curve downward.

No, it does not. The cost of health care has been rising faster than inflation for quite some time.

The status quo is unacceptable.

Yeah, that worked out well. Global credit crisis, 11 percent unemployment, a doubling of the debt.

Good plan!

The point is that if you want people to vote Republican, you have to stop with the "Vote Republican because Obama" plan. It isn't working.

Reagan had a vision. And it wasn't "Reagan because Carter".

Understand?

The GOP needs someone with a vision who lays it out there plainly and boldly.

I have not seen that. At all. It's been all whining all the time.

Liberals were renowned whiners. But now the Right is nothing but a mass of foaming at the mouth howlers.

Dumping obama care lessons the cost. We have seen the projections. I said downward only because it dumps mandates. The savings will get eaten in inflation. As the only thing we can do is continue to print money out of thin air.

Healthcare is the least of our problems.

Yeah right, another phony who claims to have abandoned the republican party. The first thing you need to learn is that a political party cannot create private sector jobs. Only the private sector can create private sector jobs. The GOP encourages the climate for creating jobs by developing cheap energy, lower taxes and less regulations. The dirty little secret is that democrats have embraced socialism to such a degree that they they have convinced the true believers that confiscating money from one segment of society and giving it to another segment of society translates to job creation.

Where are all the jobs the Republicans have been creating?

China.

1. deny minorities equal rights
2. hate gays
3. destory the poor
4. taxs cuts for rich
5. keep the white race in power

The republican party plans to create jobs by lowering the expense of ALL businesses through the tax code by providing tax incentives to all businesses along with lowering the cost of doing business by getting rid of redundant regulations.

What are the tax incentives they plan on giving businesses? I am highly dubious of "incentives".

The incentives would be higher profits through lower taxes, that is why people start and run businesses after all, to make money

The GOP hasn't really come out with a plan with Iran. I suspect that they will do what Bush and Obama have done, speak out publicly against them and work towards "sanctions" to stop it. I could possibly see the GOP giving Israel a lot more monetary/military/public comment support than the Dems in the area of Israel going after Iran...that is the only real difference in the parties with Iran.

With respect to Iran, I suspect if the President was a Republican right now, his actions would be identical to Obama's.

Which is what I basically said. "I suspect they will do what bush and obama have done, speak out publicly against them and work toward sanctions to stop them"

The GOP plans to end many of obamas policies such as low interest rates and printing money to pay our bills....both of these policies of obama's have added to inflation by reducing the value of the dollar.

With respect to the Federal Reserve, I suspect if the President was a Republican right now, his actions would be identical to Obama's. The low interest rates are allowing the financial institutions to make astronomical carry trades to offset their subprime loan losses. There isn't a Republican politician alive who would alter that plan one whit, except Ron Paul, of course.

At the most, the only difference we might have seen is Jamie Dimon as Chairman of the Fed instead of Bernanke. Maybe.

A republican's actions would not be identical to obama's at all in the area of printing money., the fed, and lack of pressuring congress for real budgets. I feel they would also have slowly started to creep up interest rates a little over a year ago.

I hope I've answered your questions. If you have any more please feel free to pose them to me.

I have heard zip from the GOP on what health reform package they have.

The GOP's plans have been out there. Selling insurance across state lines (then you could regulate it under interstate commerce legitimately ;)), tort reform to reduce the insurance burden/costs for doctors and hospitals, small and targeted legisltation to address people with pre-existing conditions, reforming medicare/medicade so it is still solvent in 20 years (or if you believe political hype and spin they want to "kill medicare" which is a giant lie).

They have plans, check out google.com and just search.

Sure you have...they are going to rework Medicare (eliminate it, see Ryan plan) and then tort reform should take care of all of the rest of it, right?

The Ryan plan doesn't eliminate medicare. Why the need to put out that dishonest talking point?

The Ryan plan does do away with Medicare as we know it. It will change little for existing seniors. Future retirees under 55 will be given a fixed amount of money to buy insurance. Seniors will be expected to make up the difference. As cost rises, seniors will pay a larger and larger share. At some point in the future Medicare will cease to exist for all but the poor. There is little similarity between the Ryan plan and Medicare. It is a plan to transition out of Medicare.

Yes it changes medicare for people more than a decade away from retirement but it does not eliminate the program like many people falsely claim.

Of course, it will still be called Medicare, but it will morph into a health insurance subsidy program, a far cry from the medical safety net for the elderly and disabled that it is today. There are a couple of parts of the plan I agree with such as raising the retirement age, but I think the plan goes too far.
