What's the Excuse for this one?

Police have murdered another unarmed black person. This time the cop shot into the persons house and killed a person living there.

'That's murder': Fort Worth police officer shoots woman inside her home

After a white police officer responding to a report of a house door standing open killed a black woman inside her own home on Saturday, an attorney for the womanā€™s family said the officer had not had time to perceive a threat before shooting.

ā€œYou didnā€™t hear the officer shout, ā€˜Gun, gun, gun,ā€™ā€ attorney Lee Merritt said after viewing video taken from a Fort Worth officerā€™s bodycam during the shooting death of Atatiana Jefferson, 28.

ā€œHe didnā€™t have time to perceive a threat. Thatā€™s murder.ā€

Jeffersonā€™s family told KXAS TV she was watching her eight-year-old nephew when she was killed. A neighbor had called a non-emergency line to report that the front door to the house was open.

In a brief statement to media on Sunday, Lt Brandon Oā€™Neil of Fort Worth police said the officer would be interviewed on Monday by the departmentā€™s major case unit.

ā€œThe officer observed a person through a rear window in the residence and fired a shot at that person,ā€ Oā€™Neil said. ā€œThe officer did not announce that he was a police officer prior to shooting. What the officer observed and why he did not announce ā€˜policeā€™ will be addressed as the investigation continues.

So what's the excuse going to be this time?
White people get ph uked with also. White people get profiled. Not all white people are blond hair and blue eyed swedes. I will say in this day and age if in your home tidy it up a bit and close the doors if something happened to have a cop respond.
White people have a 243 year track record of racism. This is a murder by a cop of an unarmed black person. No excuse for it and it's not a crime for your door to be open.

The lazy gutless neighbor that called police, should have walked out of his house, and knocked on her door if he was so concerned.

Because asking for/demanding professional policing is just too much in an exceptional society like ours?

Why is this in the race se section?
Oh yea, OP is a racist.
Lol! The posting a story about another white cop killing a black person is not racist. Nor is talking about or pointing out examples of racism by whites.
You just assume it was racism. Because you are racist.

That's not racism. But I am not assuming anything. Texas is rated as the most racist state in America and after watching and reading about these things happening to blacks over a 58 year span of time, I think that I can justifiably make the conclusion I have made. You just don't see or read about thousands of these occurrences during your lifetime, then assume this is the one time race had nothing to do with it junior.

Like I say, the power structure always pulls this stuff out on marginalized communities first until it is tacitly accepted by the larger population, from whence it can be ramped up later on. Think about the society you/we live in. The empire wages economically cannibalizing endless illegal bogus wars of aggression and economic colonization carrying out global occupations of others. More and more societal wealth is being extracted, concentrated and redistributed to our ruling aristocracy evermore putting economic pressure on working families. We have built THE most expansive incarceration/detainment/concentration camp apparatus ever known to humankind and we've abandoned our aversion to torture. The entire population is under constant corporate state surveillance as the power structure now turns to the Israelis for guidance as to how to successfully Palestinianize the american public. Our police have been militarized.

The power structure knows full well that a perturbation is on the horizon and they are preparing. Authority by definition is always on shaky ground, all they have is intimidation, violence and force and empires in decline, in the final phase, historically always bring the violence abroad to bear at home when it all contracts.

Whatever it was, she deserved it. Still, although perhaps not involved in this particular case, we know the following:

WHITE SUPREMACISTS AND other domestic extremists maintain an active presence in U.S. police departments and other law enforcement agencies. A striking reference to that conclusion, notable for its confidence and the policy prescriptions that accompany it, appears in a classified FBI Counterterrorism Policy Guide from April 2015, obtained by The Intercept. The guide, which details the process by which the FBI enters individuals on a terrorism watchlist, the Known or Suspected Terrorist File, notes that ā€œdomestic terrorism investigations focused on militia extremists, white supremacist extremists, and sovereign citizen extremists often have identified active links to law enforcement officers,ā€ and explains in some detail how bureau policies have been crafted to take this infiltration into account.

Although these right-wing extremists have posed a growing threat for years, federal investigators have been reluctant to publicly address that threat or to point out the movementā€™s longstanding strategy of infiltrating the law enforcement community.

When you blame racism everytime a person from a different race does something, that is racism.

I want police to be held to account when they do wrong like in this case and the Amber Guyger situation. But I don't believe the conspiracy theories that theres some kind of epidemic of white cops going around intentionally murdering innocent blacks for fun. I also don't agree that people like you should conflate cases of police wrongdoing with incidents like Tamir Rice who was waving a gun around in public and Trayvon Martin who wasn't killed by a cop or a white man, for that matter.

As for the clip of the white man begging for his life...why was there no protests when the cop got off with a slap on the wrist? It's the most blatant example of police terrorism I've ever seen. Wheres the outrage?

No excuses. I already posted on this on another thread so, I'm just going to say by all appearances this cop didn't know what he was doing, used stupid procedure and killed an innocent woman in her own home. How people are making the cops motive racial though... I have no idea, he only saw a person in the window for a fraction of a second before he shot her. It didn't matter what race she was at that point. Whether this is ruled as manslaughter or some degree of murder will be handled by the court when all evidence is put on the table. In my opinion though, this cop did everything wrong.

Nothing you said has anything to do with the topic at hand. The bodycam video speaks for itself. The cop was sneaking around as if he was in a slasher movie. He should have said something, announced his presence, asked if everyone was ok. Maybe try knocking on the friggin door. If the lady inside was armed I definitely cant blame her considering theres some man snooping around outside.

But yeah, I think it's pretty silly to make it out as if his behavior was part of some vast right wing conspiracy.

The trend in this society of this happening again and again is institutionally racist. Arguing over whether or not an individual is racist provides cover for our societal issue we refuse to acknowledge. Look for more of the same just like mass school shootings. We refuse to deal with anything.

Sure, our law enforcement in this society is determined by that "violent urban black culture". The white perspective, thanks. So basically the police in america cannot be expected to be professionals. I sadly concur. When the police demonstrate that they can police themselves, then they can perhaps police the rest of us. Whatever the issue may be in america, we can always find solace and uplift in blaming those in our internal economic colonies.

What's wrong with the murderous police in america?

Darkies made 'em do it.

I didn't say "black" urban culture. But yeah, it's just a fact that most inner city violence is committed by blacks. It is understandable that police working in that environment might become paranoid and sometimes make mistakes. I wouldnt want to be a cop...no amount of money is worth having to deal with the dregs of humanity day in day out.

Never said that, did I. This is not a conspiracy, it is incrementalism. Nevermind then, just go on with your freedom, I can wait and watch.

I'm just a spectator in disintegration of this country too you know. My diagnosis for the cause of all this dysfunction is different from yours. Paranoid, trigger happy police is a symptom of violent urban culture not the other way around.

That has fuck all nothing to do with the citizenry demanding professional law enforcement. But for some unknown reason you and others need to defend the far too "normalized" continual slaughter by law enforcement of citizens in the street, and now in their own homes. If you're comfortable participating in the normalization of such behavior by law enforcement, you would appear to be the average white american quite comfortable in looking the other way. Expect it to spread, why would it not? It already has.

No. That cop was completely wrong. To say this was racism, or that he wanted to murder or kill the victim is questionable. But you canā€™t hang this on all cops, because one royally screwed up. Itā€™s a horrific preventable loss of life. A check the well being call is just that, and he could have called for backup if concerned. The other recent situation, where the female cop killed the other man is equally as senseless and horrible, but neither situation is related. But if anyone was to check the amount of police responses across the country in any day, week or year, situations like this are minimal. Thatā€™s also of no comfort to the family, friends or community or the victim. There is no solution in this situation, but it was definitely preventable.

Nope, pretty sure I'm neither defending nor normalizing. The cop did wrong, she would have been 100% justified in shooting him, but not the other way around. It seems to me it's you social justice types who want to look the other way when it comes to black violence.

Social justice is such a foul concept and goal isn't it, utterly unamerican. Funny how we so easily slip into catch and trigger phrases that reveal our tribal affiliations.

Hey, a white cop gunned down another black person in their own home.

Well what about black crime and violence? What about "urban culture"?
