I already posted on this on another thread so, I'm just going to say by all appearances this cop didn't know what he was doing, used stupid procedure and killed an innocent woman in her own home. How people are making the cops motive racial though... I have no idea, he only saw a person in the window for a fraction of a second before he shot her. It didn't matter what race she was at that point. Whether this is ruled as manslaughter or some degree of murder will be handled by the court when all evidence is put on the table. In my opinion though, this cop did everything wrong.

The entire population is under constant corporate state surveillance as the power structure now turns to the Israelis for guidance as to how to successfully Palestinianize the american public. Our police have been militarized.

The power structure knows full well that a perturbation is on the horizon and they are preparing. Authority by definition is always on shaky ground, all they have is intimidation, violence and force and empires in decline, in the final phase, historically always bring the violence abroad to bear at home when it all contracts.

He should have said something, announced his presence, asked if everyone was ok. Maybe try knocking on the friggin door. It is understandable that police working in that environment might become paranoid and sometimes make mistakes. But for some unknown reason you and others need to defend the far too "normalized" continual slaughter by law enforcement of citizens in the street, and now in their own homes. If you're comfortable participating in the normalization of such behavior by law enforcement, you would appear to be the average white american quite comfortable in looking the other way. Police have murdered another unarmed black person. This time the cop shot into the persons house and killed a person living there.

After a white police officer responding to a report of a house door standing open killed a black woman inside her own home on Saturday, an attorney for the woman’s family said the officer had not had time to perceive a threat before shooting.

“You didn’t hear the officer shout, ‘Gun, gun, gun,’” attorney Lee Merritt said after viewing video taken from a Fort Worth officer’s bodycam during the shooting death of Atatiana Jefferson, 28.

“He didn’t have time to perceive a threat. That’s murder.”

Jefferson’s family told KXAS TV she was watching her eight-year-old nephew when she was killed. A neighbor had called a non-emergency line to report that the front door to the house was open.

In a brief statement to media on Sunday, Lt Brandon O’Neil of Fort Worth police said the officer would be interviewed on Monday by the department’s major case unit.

“The officer observed a person through a rear window in the residence and fired a shot at that person,” O’Neil said. “The officer did not announce that he was a police officer prior to shooting. What the officer observed and why he did not announce ‘police’ will be addressed as the investigation continues.

White people have a 243 year track record of racism. This is a murder by a cop of an unarmed black person. No excuse for it and it's not a crime for your door to be open.

Because asking for/demanding professional policing is just too much in an exceptional society like ours?

No. That cop was completely wrong. To say this was racism, or that he wanted to murder or kill the victim is questionable. But you can’t hang this on all cops, because one royally screwed up. It’s a horrific preventable loss of life. A check the well being call is just that, and he could have called for backup if concerned. The other recent situation, where the female cop killed the other man is equally as senseless and horrible, but neither situation is related. But if anyone was to check the amount of police responses across the country in any day, week or year, situations like this are minimal. That’s also of no comfort to the family, friends or community or the victim. There is no solution in this situation, but it was definitely preventable.
