Ok so The Soviet Union was our "ally" during wwii. Stalin and his henchmen murdered thirty million people. Everybody knows who Adolph Hitler was so why not Stalin? How bout Mao Tse Tung? Why do communist seem to get a free pass when they have MURDERED more people than The Third Reich?

Nuclear Weapons.

We never did anything about Stalin, or Moa, Because by the time we were done with Germany and Japan, Nukes were on the Table and the Full Scale Conventional War seemed Unthinkable. So we fought a Cold War against Both the USSR and China. Would not call that giving them a free pass. Circumstances did not allow the Same Treatment as Hitler got.

They get a free pass from the left. Not from the right.

Great point. I like to OPs question and this is the truth. The left (and I've been told they do not get their philosphy from marx, Jake told me that and I'll make fun of him forever with that stupid quote) doesnt have a problem with Stalin and they're almost loving Nazis nowadays. Attacking Jews, but supporting crazy muslims and the PLO (wait that's redundant they are crazy muslims) AND Mengele like health policies. Which goes to further my communism, socialism, nazism, facism are all different faces of the same thing.

The tools of history are priority ranked by their impact on Western 'Civilization', the semi-successful conquerors of this crazy li'l planet, and therefore the dominant writers of it's history.

:dunno: How many human Stories, both tragic and triumphal are forever lost?

good point, winners write the history, but in the 20th century I think we have much more context for both sides.

Certainly! One of the steps toward Sentience is for a species with words to preserve the records of history's losers, and now we have the internet preserving forever basically everything.

The dawn of the internet age is a very exciting time to be alive.

Yeah... I didn't see that either. All of those names are recognized by this average Joe.

This guy is Typical of people who Grew up after the Cold war, or were to Young to Remember the End of it.

They think we fought with Russia against Germany and then basically got along with them after. They don't understand just how close we came to Nuclear war, and just how many People Both in the Military, and in the Intel Community that died fighting the USSR in one way or another.

Like I said, His Question is silly. Hitler was Before Nukes, and the entire world was United against him other than Japan. Stalin and Mao had their Differences but would have worked together against the West had we tried anything Major. It was an entirely Different Situation, and we did as Much as we could to Bring Both Men, and Both systems down. In Both cases were ended up being successful in one way or another.

In the case of the USSR we opposed them, and out spent them until their entire system Collapsed. In the Case of China we first opposed them, and then Engaged them and have effected changed in their system which today are making them one of the most powerful Economies on earth.

Perhaps we should have rethought that one. lol
