I wouldn't make any major bets about the guys front center, and front right, being white

The only thing white about the 3rd guy in the front row is his shirt and his job.

Obviously, we have a long way to go. As it is, we are wasting a lot of talent that could be utilized but won't be - until all Americans have equal education at their fingertips.

It is beyond stupid that the US does not invest in its own people.

Note to laffatlibs You are quite incorrect. Racists lives do not matter. By far and away, the best thing that could happen to this planet would be if all alt right, kkk, nazi trailer trash worms dropped dead.

Well of course cnelsen .. In 1969, the effect of the Civil Rights Act had barely taken hold. If you have to go that far back to find your "glory days" -- than you're losing your favorite chew toy.

Only 2 groups still exist that are TOTALLY fixated on race. That's you and your losers and the Democratic Party.

The rest of us are proud of the progress.

Hidden Figures was a joke. So a negress can do math. Big deal!

"You could do much more, much faster on computer," Johnson says. "But when they went to computers, they called over and said, 'tell her to check and see if the computer trajectory they had calculated was correct.' So I checked it and it was correct."

So the smartest negress on earth was obsoleted by a computer decades ago. That's the chimps' greatest intellectual accomplishment?

And NASA's image shows she looks not so dark, especially given the blue/gray eyes!

Hidden Figures my ass! Hidden Facts is more like it!

So Hidden Figures was an uplifting account of a remarkable American achievement, and it's only my fixation on race that sees any racial message in the movie? Is that what you are saying? Regarding progress, that's what progressives in Russia were celebrating in Oct 1917.

It's a shame that the movie and that PARTICULAR history was promoted by hitting folks with a 2X4. It SHOULD have been more subtle. But --- it might have cut the box office in half. That's done for most "historically based" films.

Your problem is -- A couple decades AFTER the CRAct passed, you lost most of your "photo op" examples of lily white progress. And you have to go back to the days when Blacks were STILL greatly affected by segregation and opportunity.

Your SECOND problem is --- and I know a bit about this because a spent a brief stint at NASA HQ at KSCenter and 20 yrs in Silicon Valley, it wasn't perfectly white anymore. Still WAY unrepresented. But TODAY -- your super achieving "white kids" are a MINORITY in our Grad Level colleges for Science and Engineering. You almost need a translator to take a course there because of the make-up of faculty as well. The 3rd world kids are DOMINATING OUR OWN tech space. So much for the lasting "white power" in the brain trust.

Go fetch a pic from the JPLab celebrations when the Mars Rovers deployed on Mars. You'll see how un-inevitable your "white dominance" of science and engineering turned out you loser... Your example was a fluke.. A aberration of a generalization. That's all you got.
