Whats more important, winning the congress or the whitehouse? and why

Personally I think the congress is what's more important this go around. The social issues that typically wind up in the scotus are not going to right this ship. Abortion is not in jeopardy in my opinion. The gay agenda is not going to save us from bankruptcy. Social issues need to take a back seat to the real problems we face. And of course nominees go no where without approval from congress.

The real challenges we face as a nation pertain to fiscal issues and economic ones. That's why I think congress is more important. Granted we need a congress that doesn't spend money like a new lottery winner. Other than the military and the veto pen any president can be kept in check with appropriate congressional oversight.

Harry Reid should be ashamed of himself as should the entire Democratic caucus in the Senate. It is a textbook example on why we need to further perfect the Constitution to make sure this type of shit doesn't happen. So I answered the Poll by saying Congress simply because it is bad government.

From the political stanpoint, the Presidency is MUCH more important politically. Why? Because the aged SCOUS justices, Obama may get to appoint 2 more; possibly 3. Maybe four if Thomas goes. When the GOP begins it's standard obstruction of the appointments, it will further play into the upcoming narrative of obstruction-at-any cost that Obama is going to hang around the neck of the GOP.

There is a more important battle than the Presidency and the White House. It's the battle for our souls.

Our people have become corrupt. That's why we have representatives who are corrupt and who get away with it. If we dont fix the problems in our own lives, it doesnt matter what party gets control, our liberty is lost.

For the GOP, winning the WH, no debate.

The Imperial Presidency conforms well to conservative authoritarianism; there’s no need for compromise or consensus, unlike Congress.

And then there’s those wonderful judicial appointments, you get to shape policy years after your administration ends. Comes in handy when a republican presidential candidate fails to win enough votes, too.
