Whatever happened to "Republicans"???

What happened is that they appeased, capitulated, and caved to the left for so long, that they became indistinguishable, for all practical purposes, from the left.

They ran exactly the kind of "moderate" presidential candidate all the leftists claim that republicans should run, and they still lost.

And I have yet to see any compelling sensory evidence, despite all the bluster from the left, that the GOP has shifted "hard right".

No one's buying this. What happened is that they finally got full control of government and they did exactly what they always wanted.

Socialize the losses and privatize the profits.
Break government so they could end social programs for the poor
Launch a war in the middle east, disaster capitalism.

And the Robber Baron's gobbled up all the $. Did they go too far? Hell no. Heck, you don't even realize they did it. You're stilll blaming the government.

In business, there are always winners and losers. So, who won? When your 401K took a dump and Walllstreet collapsed, where did all that money go? Who won?

The bankers won. And you still side with the GOP who helped the bankers fuck us.

Are the Dems angels? No, but they are way better than the GOP.

You don't make enough money to be a Republican. Do you understand that?

you dont make enough money to be Democrat either.....do you understand that?

They aren't loons. Stop attacking these good men who make a lot of sense. Their only problem is having to deal with people like you in Congress.

PS. You don't have to tell us you vote GOP. We know based on your arguments.

keep going Bobo your doing good....everything i said about you earlier just keeps getting reinforced.....Dude has said in other posts with you and others HE IS NOT A REPUB.,but because he disagrees with you he must be....you keep repeating the same MANTRA over and over....kind of Hannity like.....your just so sucked in its laughable.......keep up the good work....

Last I looked, General Electric was a big defense contractor in addition to cable news owner. But hey, don't you Conazis continue to remind us how much more popular those news and TV outlets owned by News Corp are? Talkin' outta both sides of yer mouf are ya?

General Electric has reinvented itself and its corporatism for the new regime.

I urge you to read up on that.

Are they still "ruining America?"

I never said they were. I was responding to the other guy's comparison to Grummon. GE still ranks as the #10 defense contractor, regardless how many news outlets it owns. Just because you smell bias doesn't surprise me one bit. But I find it ironic that you people don't seem concerned when Rupert Murdoch "buys" the Wall Street Journal and "promises" not to turn it into a biased right-wing rag. He's not there yet, but very close. So the running commentary about General Electric's ownership of news organizations seems to indicate that you people would prefer they ALL be biased toward the right, and then that would make it fair. How ridiculous.

I'm not concerned about Rupert Murdoch. Why should I be? He's a free man.

GE Capital was given $140B in bailout money (by Bush and the FDIC, not TARP, granted) but but no persecutions over executive compensation. Now they are seated at the right hand of the Father for a whopper of an information systems contract for healthcare reform.

Don't mistake your imbecilic opinions for those of "everyone".

Name just one program for the sainted poooooooooooor, in eight years, that republicans moved to shut down.

Just one.

Social Security

clown .........

I'm not a republican....Which puts me in a pretty good spot to make a dispassionate 3rd-person observation. The only person who is deluded is the one who believes that ANY of the "news" outlets (including Fakes News) call things down-the-middle.

A lot of people don't want socialist moonbats like Bernie Sanders and Dennis Kucinich in on making laws either, but that's not going to stop the democratics from doing so anyways.

I think Bernie Sanders acknowledges he's a socialist, but why pick the furthest reaches of the left to represent democrats? That seems to be a tactic of the radical right, I'd say. As for socialism, I didn't hear an awful lot of complaints from the right when there was eight years of socialism for corporatists.... it must have been great... socialize the debt, privatize the profits. :clap2:

I hope that saying is catching on Jillian!!! I've been saying it for 2 years now. So far, in the past 3 weeks I have seen 2 of you use it.

But you said it wrong. Its socialize the profits and privatize the profits.

Close enough. I love you, even though you don't believe my conspiracy theories.
now you want other people to be an Automaton like you....great.....keep going Bobo....

back in the early nineties when i was a registered Dem.....i asked myself that same question about the Democrats.....what happened to you guys?....dont recognize ya anymore.....so left them and became an INDY and started thinking for myself.....have never looked back and now cant stand either party....

Ironically, I basically did the same thing following Reagan's second term when I just couldn't vote for another Republican but there wasn't a Democrat I had much faith in either. I kind of coasted through Bill Clinton's first term, and then I finally (FINALLY!) started seeing some old-fashioned give and take by both parties in order to achieve solutions satisfactory to everyone. Even Gingrich and Clinton had their heads together on many occasions, away from the press. Not so today, and with the Party of No up against majority Democrats, the latter will play up the fact that they get no cooperation from the right, which only compounds the conservatives' bad image.

Contrary to Dude's opinion, and that of the rest of the "hard right," in order to keep the country on at least a common sense track, it takes a helluva lot of appeasement, capitulation and caving by both sides. Otherwise, we have either a dictatorship or gridlock.

appeased, capitulated, and caved

Tom Daschle said in an interview i seen on TV,that when he and Trent Lott were in the Senate,we disagreed on much, but we came together on many of those bills at the end of the day......and he said he doesnt see that now.....to much animosity on both sides.....and it had better change....i agree......they dont have ANY leadership......certain people should be replaced, and get some new ideas in there,MAYBE by someone or body who actually know what they are doing....

Dude, the Religious Right and the Neocon leadership are what happened to the Republican party.

They used to be the fiscal conservatives, they are nowhere to be found anymore. I actually liked them then. Now they are simply nutfringe loonies waiting around for someone to lead them toward some semblence of the party they used to be.

I couldn't have said it better, although I believe the Evangelical Movement now acknowledges that they temporarily forgot who Jesus was.
of course you couldnt
you are BOTH fucking morons

The problem then is the LMSM? I don't know about that.

The wingnuts tend to get their own crazy muggs on any camera they can find. It's the radical policies of the past 10 years or so. News media do shove the mics in the faces of the weirdest people there but that isn't what completely killed the Republicans dead.

The Dems were almost dead there for awhile but they found leadership and policies they could believe in and more they were policies America could get behind.
The same thing happens with libertarians.

Rather than pay attention to the sensible and reasonable, like John Stossel or Ed Thompson (the brother of former WI governor Tommy), media types focus on the moonbats, like troofers.

Claiming that the policies of the last 10 years or so are "radical", when they've more resembled the policies of far left radicals like LBJ, is an interesting claim....Especially when we're talking about republicans here.

Claiming that the dems have found "leadership" in the likes of Harry Reid and Nancy Paxiolsi is laughable, at best.

I like Pelosi, she never was good in interviews. Maybe she needs a teleprompter.
LOL

yeah, you sure liked to conservatives before the "religious right and neocons"
you fucking LIAR

I tend to disagree.

The media merely sticks its mics and points its cameras at the evangelical loons, in order to create a boogerman for people to fear and deride.

Remember that dumb twirp from CNN covering the tea parties, who was only seeking out the kookiest people she could find for her interviews??....You think that was the only place that kind of thing goes on??

Until the repubs dissuade themselves of that type of self-delusion, your party is going to be in huge trouble.

I don't think anyone cares whether or not the evangelicals are loons... I think most people just don't want them making government policy.
except it isnt HIS party
how many times has he told you that?

Why, because a guy who has never liked her wants her to resign?

You guys don't run our party.

Much like a bunch of ultra tree huggers don't contol the GOP. You guys want to define the GOP even though in a generic Congressional poll the GOP has been polling above or very slightly behind the Dimocrats. The Dimocrats will hang themselves by spending 3.6 trillion, it is unsustainable and will crash the dollar. Our government has always worked best when Congress and the Presidency has power split between the two parties.

What generic congressional poll would that be? Rasmussen? The Republican pollster? Republicans trail badly in ALL polls--here:

Congress: Republicans

Institutions (2)

Do what you posted favorability ratings not likely voting...here is a link to all the polls on voting....
RealClearPolitics - Election Other - Generic Congressional Vote
Here is the job approval of congress as a whole....

RealClearPolitics - Election Other - Congressional Job Approval

Other than the Daily Kookie poll the numbers you posted are almost the same for the overall congress...

Well...I'm still ever the optimist. I know plenty of decent compassionate Republicans who wouldn't fit into any of your categories. Admitedly, they're becoming a rare breed, however. But I would still like to see the 2-parties admit their mistakes and move on, like with a revised "Contract With America" which outlines a concensus of the best each party has to offer and start all over with that.

Neither party will ever be based in common sense. Special interest controls both parties, the party representatives are puppets of their special interest groups.

But you defend the GOP special interest.

We complain when our Democrats do it. And you sure as hell complain when you catch a Dem doing this.

So why don't you complain about the GOP bending over for corporations? Hell, you defend it.

What makes your special interest any better that you vote for it and defend it for 8 years as it ruined America.
you are such a moron
he supported Hillary

So true, notice coverage of issues that affect everywoman: poor wages, poverty, lack of jobs, poor or no healthcare, corporate outsourcing, the corporate owned media never covers tough issues. At least at one time, they covered tough issues but corporate ownership forced them all to play the game. If you don't play the game you are marginalized.
You mean like corporate ownership of several cable and satellite outlets (GE/NBC/Universal) pimps for the anthropogenic global warming hoax, and overtly shilled for Barry Obolshevik during and after the election??

I can't imagine the shit attack socialist bedwetters would have, if Northrup-Grumman owned a score of teevee networks and had "pro war" week.

You've met the enemy, pal, and he is you.

Last I looked, General Electric was a big defense contractor in addition to cable news owner. But hey, don't you Conazis continue to remind us how much more popular those news and TV outlets owned by News Corp are? Talkin' outta both sides of yer mouf are ya?

no, dumbass, Rasmussen is NOT a republican pollster

What Radical policies maggie? The Dems in the senate passed both no child left behind and home;land security as they wanted it because that was the only way Bush could get anything at all through the Democratic senate jumpin' Jim Jeffords left him with in 2001. The Reps also gave you a medicare drug prescrition plan that will cost this country more money in the next 15 years than all wars the US ever fought combined. The only radical things the Bushies did was give us more of what the left had been screaming for for the last fifty years. Hell Clinton governed more conservatively on domestic issues than Bush did but then Clinton had a Republican congress that still acted like Reagan Republicans. Instead of Democrat lite.
