What would you make in a one quart dutch oven...

I have two cast iron skillets on my stove right now. People who generally complain about the taste or rust of cast iron don't use them very often. The skillets sit in the cupboard all year and they probably do taste funky. They have to be used to be useable, if that makes any sense.

Man am I ever stupid... I have been cooking tomato-based food in cast iron for 40 years... Wonder if I could get my money back...
Correction.

You'll need a good carbon buildup on your cast iron cookware, to keep from getting that tin taste in your tomato-y food concoctions.

I stand corrected.

What CAN'T you cook in a cast iron dutch oven? I recently got rid of my top of the line glass top range and went back to gas, boy did I miss it. Busted out the 40 year old skillet, then retired it as I went nuts on Lodge stuff.

My Greenpans are still in service and quicker to use but there's something to be said for using indestructible cookware.

Big surprise for hubby when he comes home late?
