What would a Republican America look like?

If you truly and honestly believe what sallow posted, then you are giving truthmatters a run for dumbest wingnut here....

Hyperbole is funny, even more so when someone believes it as truth...

Have you listened to what your side says at the nationals?

None of it mentions making Christianity the national religion...

OMG - you actually believe this?....

So, um, basing law on their interpretation of Christian / Catholic "values" isn't ANYWHERE CLOSE, right? Claiming the right to discriminate regarding health coverage that was in no way their sphere of influence to begin with in NO WAY inflicts their "values" on a secular nation.

Calling a lesbian a "slut" and claiming that her position is that GOVERNMENT should pay for her coverage when she clearly bought her own, rather than the insurance SHE PAID for from carrier that routinely covered exactly what the doctor ordered as to her reproductive health (not always to do with reproduction, too often to ignore to do with the reproductive organs that can become deadly),when it is the EMPLOYERS, for reasons (suddenly) uncomfortably close to what was stated, that wish to make it harder (no pun intended) for a lesbian like her to escape the shame and shunning of unwanted pregnancy.

It's hard to decide what to fuck with here. The whole, "who the fuck do you guys think you're talking to," or the "who the fuck do you guys think you're talking to?" part.

You know what? Never mind, and don't bother. You know that it is what it is, but you won't call it what it is, because that would be a sign of integrity that you find to be too much like work to display.

What "secular nation"? the vast majority of Americans believes in a diety of some sort or other...

Why should people, by law, be forced to do that wich is against their religious beliefs? I mean if you want to strike that whole "freedom of religion" thing from the Constitution, you're free to try, but you won't get far...

There are other threads for that argument... I don't care what entertainers and pundits call people... They don't vote on bills...

And how does a lesbian get unwantedly pregnant???

Simple question: Do you truly believe what sallow said or not?

I doubt you'll answer it though...

If the Republicans were to win the Presidency and both Houses this November, what could we expect?

1. War with Iran: Republican candidates are already beating the drums that we must use force to end the threat of a nuclear Iran. Diplomacy is for pussies

2. Further isolation of North Korea: Republicans did not respond well to Obamas food for demilitarization program. Expect it to end

3 Repeal of Obamacare: No replacement, just repeal. 30 million Americans without access to affordable care, people with preexisting conditions thrown out

4 Gutting of Medicare: Elderly Americans will be given a yearly allowance for health coverage. If it doesn't keep up with rising costs....too bad

5 Extension of Bush tax cuts, additional tax cuts for the one percent while the lowest fifty percent would see an increase

6 Reductions in Federal Student loans: Making it harder for working Americans to send their kids to school

7 Increased harassment of Mexican Americans: Show me your papers

8 Increased subsidies for oil production while killing green energy provisions

9 Creationism taught in schools. Evolution downgraded to an unproven theory

10. Global warming officially declared a hoax

11. Gay marriage repealed and DADT reinstated

What would gov't look like under RW control? It would look like the wholly ineffective gov't of President George W. Bush. Gov't agencies would be intentionally run by incompetent men who are both hostile to the mission and who subsequently farm out (privatize) the operations to businesses who end up getting the contracts because of political contacts as opposed to any particular expertise in that field. Consequently, they are overpaid for non bid contracts. And the work? It wouldn't be done at all well because either:

A the contractors are equally inept, and/or inexperienced in that field or
B they're hostile to the mission

And, of course, there wouldn't be any governmental oversight. This is one of the reasons that the Bush administration was such a fiasco. Even as they cut the federal payroll, the cost of gov't went through the roof while results plummeted.

Hey, if you want 'voluntary oversight' of mining operations, don't be surprised when you get cave-ins and explosions. You want FEMA to be staffed by political appointees instead of disaster relief specialists, don't be surprised when the Fed Gov't can't respond to a natural disaster for days even though everyone saw the hurricane coming and despite the fact that 100s of billions of dollars were spent on Homeland Security and Emergency Response.

Read "The Wrecking Crew" by Thomas Frank sometime. The tragedy isn't just in the results. It's that these results were and are predictable. And, I'm sorry to say, they were planned specifically to get gov't out of the business of holding business accountable because of conservatives' ideological belief (a mistaken belief) that the magic of 'the market' would make everything turn out okay if business was just left alone.

To the last, hell yes, this last blow back was hardly the first, or conducted in a vacuum.
okay, puns very much intended.

And how does a lesbian get unwantedly pregnant???

that is the fucking POINT sailing over your heads in all of this.

and:

Why should people, by law, be forced to do that wich [sic] is against their religious beliefs?

Why should individuals, by law, be forced to have insurance policies that THEY PAY FOR limited in unnatural / unusual ways because of SOME ENTITIES / GROUPS religious beliefs?

This isn't rocket science. You DO understand the constitutional principles at stake. This is as much about the religious freedom of corporate / religious entities as segregation was about states (the south) / personal (lunch counter Equal Access to Public Accommodations - The Civil Rights Movement in Virginia - Virginia Historical Society ) rights.
But please, do continue to look like a giant ass.

And
What "secular nation"? the vast majority of Americans believes in a diety of some sort or other...

You know damned well that the secular part had to do with establishment. "some sort of" in NO WAY implies "the Christian / Catholic interpretation of."

I've given out too much rep. Still :clap2:

You are welcome to post what you think a Republican America would look like

I bet it is not much different than what I posted

I touched on it earlier but you cannot forget what they would do to labor rights and the right to protest. The 1st amendment has been under heavy attack in the states last year, they would insure that people would be under attack whenever and wherever they tried to collectively stand against the powerful.

We saw what the Republicans think of labor right after the 2010 elections. I would expect they would grow bolder and extend their collective bargaining restrictions to the private sector

Thereby driving down wages further for conservatives only real constituency: Business.

Middle class conservative who vote for conservative Republicans for higher office are voting for a pay cut for themselves.

Billions of taxpayer dollars wouldn't be laundered through "green energy" companies.

A 787 billion dollar democrat slush fund would not have been passed.

Drug cartels wouldn't be shooting at our border agents with free, gubment supplied guns.

No back room, back door sessions full of bribes and arm twisting to pass an unconstitutional healthcare law on Christmas Eve.

No disingenuous debates about contraception to hide how bad they've hurt the economy.

No World Apology Tours.

No focus on class envy.

No personal phone calls to coddle a political activist who was the victim of name calling.

Well we already have a taste of what a democratic socialist America would look like.

You are welcome to post what you think a Republican America would look like

I bet it is not much different than what I posted

I don't own a crystal ball. Sorry

You don't need a crystal ball. We have 6 years of Bush/GOP Congress to use as a reference.

1. An unnecessary unpaid for war. 2. Budget busting tax cuts 3. Unpaid for expansion of entitlements.

After three yeas of Obama, massive increases in unemployment insurance payments, increases in welfare recipients, and Obamacare, you're gonna go there?

Wow.

You forgot busting unions so we can have "plum jobs" like the ChiComs.

January 23, 2012
RUSH: As I say, they leave out one crucial factor here and that's unions, to help explain why manufacturing in America can't compete with the way the ChiComs do it.

Let me give you a fascinating statistic that will put this in perspective. The primary manufacturing company for Apple's products is called Foxconn, Hon Hai Precision Industry, and they make electronic gadgets for practically everybody. Apple is one of their largest customers. They have, at one factory, 230,000 employees. One factory: 230,000 employees. Most of them live in dormitories on the site of the factory. There's a hospital, there are kitchens. This place goes through... I wish I could remember. The tonnage of pork and rice every month this place goes through to feed its employees is astounding. They have 230,000 employees in one factory. They work six days a week, 12 hours a day. They earn the equivalent of 17 US dollars a day, and they are plum jobs in China.

And the young people come from all over the country to get jobs there. There are not many alternatives as lucrative that offer more.

Obama also continued Bush's tax cuts and Bush's wars.

By your own standards.. We have that now with a DEM prez and DEM senate

Don't give us that knee jerk war stuff lefties. Every freaking war during the bloody 20th century started during a democrat administration. They were "good" wars though. Harry Truman didn't have congressional permission to send Troops to Korea and his timid mismanagement caused the "forgotten war" to last 3 years at the cost of about 38,000 American lives. Bill Clinton bombed Yugoslavia. Democrats voted for boots on the ground in Iraq and then they sat back and engaged in treason by undermining the war every chance they got. Who could forget Harry Reid saying "the war is lost" and democrats giggling about the full page ad calling the US commander "betray-us". Barry bombed Libya to pave the way for the muslem brotherhood. The only thing I fear about a republican administration is what democrats might do to the Country to get power back.

the reason the Bush tax cuts got extended was that the GOP held hostage the extension of unemployment benefits if they didnt get extended because they said they would create "jobs". obviously they havent. the reason more people were using unemployment insurance is because when GWB left office we were losing 750,000 jobs a month. How is that Obama's fault?

chart-of-the-day-unemployment-rate-vs-job-growth-jan-6-2012.jpg

remember this graph? how do you expect unemployment claims to not rise is that environment?

that wars are the wars, since we had already committed troops for basically 7 years, a cease and desist would have horrid for that region of the world. we would have cause more problems than when we originally invaded. although we are no longer in Iraq and are starting to drawn down in Afghanistan. much different the what McCain said during his campaign, as well as all the current GOP nominees who said we shouldve stayed in Iraq longer.

Welfare recipients are higher in GOP controlled states than DEM controlled states. Maybe those GOP voters should take some personal responsibility and get off the government tit.

Outside of the mandate, what part of the health care law do you disagree with? the GOP "replacement" version is almost a rehash of the current health care law less the mandate and added in tort reform. (although i agree that torn reform shouldve been part of the health care law) so what is the real difference between the GOP solution and the current law? not much... (read it at gop.gov)

funny you blame the dems when they control the WH, and the switch over and blame the dems again when they dont, but have control of congress. so which one is it? the WH or Congress that has more power?

did you forget that when GWB went to war the GOP had control of the WH and Congress?
