Legalize pot? The LP effectively supports increased welfare spending and wants to put people in jail for using their own property as they wish. It would be nice if the LP weren't run by perverted socialists, but just by hippies who wanted some weed.

I consider myself a Libertarian, but I would all but do away with welfare. Having defended people against eminent domain abuses, property Rights ought to be a must if we are to have a Libertarian Party.

It's a matter of a changing of the guard. That's it.

Unless another crop of activists take control of the leadership, you may have a point.

We have a two party system. The LP will lose regardless of who they nominate and regardless of their platform. It took the likes of Hillary and Trump for the LP to break 1%.

The LP could put more effort into ending the two-party system, such as ending federal subsidies for the Republican and Democrat candidates which puts the third party candidates at that much more disadvantage.

You need to look at your numbers. They did break the 1% last election. It was because Trump and Hillary were unplatible to more then normal.

My idea of a win and your idea are two different things. Many times third parties come up with great ideas that the two party system has to adopt in order to keep the third party from gaining a foothold.

So, if they co-opt a good idea and that idea becomes the basis of a national debate, then if it were my idea, I consider it a net win.

You've admitted to the things that the Libertarians do wrong. What if YOU were in their meetings, helping to develop policy and pointed those things out? If a handful of people, thinking like you do, influenced their policy, what do you think could happen?

There is reasons why libertarians will never be a big party.

    1. While many think Pot should be legal they despise all drugs should be legal.
    2. The majority of the country does NOT believe in abortion.
    3. Open borders are a foolish idea that will never win anyone over
    4. We have laws .
