What was the biggest lie that re-elected Obama?

"Mitt Romney is Electable".

That was the lie that got Obama Re-elected, and you told yourselves that all through the primary seasons when you rejected guys I might have voted for.

While he was painted by the Obama campaign as being an elitist and out of touch with the common person, I think the debates showed a different view and that is why we saw the gains after the debates for Romney, but it wasn't enough. Anyway, who was rejected that you would have voted for and why?

I'd have voted for Santorum, because despite being a religious nut, he did understand working class issues and concerns.

Newt even kind of got it.

I also liked Perry, although he was woefully unprepared for the primary process. (I also initially liked Fred Thompson in 2008).

I also really like Tim Pawlenty, but he wasn't crazy enough for the GOP base.

Any of those guys, I probably would have been fine with. And Newt was probably unelectable, but any of the others would have fared at least as well as Romney did.

As far as painting Romney as an "elitist", Obama used the same tactic that Ted Kennedy used against Romney in 1994, and the same one Huckabee used against him in 2008. Romney has had years to come up with a defense of his conduct at Bain. He could have even got Bain to clean up its act.

So I think the more important question is, why didn't Romney have a better defense against these attacks?

I agree that Obama used the same tactics as others and it really did work. People in the middle did not care for him and found him rigid until the first debate when the mold was shattered. As for the other candidates, I doubt you would have voted for any of them over a Democrat. Especially Santorum. His social conservatism really seemed to irritate the American left. Perry really had little chance and Newt had no chance. By the way, I was all for Thompson but he was slow off the start. I liked his stance on most issues though.

I just think that running two statist, corporatist liberals against each other really gives America a limited choice and that is why I wish Santorum had been the nominee. He would have gotten trounced but at least there would have been a difference between the two candidates.

Oh please...want to tell political jokes - try this one:

A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person. The Republican gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his business for a job. He then took twenty dollars out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.

The Democrat was very impressed, and when they came to another homeless person, he decided to help. He walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. He then reached into the Republican's pocket and gave the homeless person fifty dollars.

Now you understand the difference between Republicans and Democrats.

People wonder why we call BHO a socialist
raising the debt as he and has was no accident
It left us on the cliff and raising revenue from an economy with 16% UE is going to be tough
go after the rich (code for haed working peope who make 250k a year, maybe allot less if Ws tax ratesexpire)
go after

The biggest lies that caused Obama's re-election were:

You can cut the tax rates by 20% for everyone and make up for the lost revenue by closing loop holes - without affecting the middle class.

That 47% of the American people are free loaders.

That having 'Binders full of women' demonstrated caring about women's equality.

Good job ignoring the real question
The 47% was stupid
its probably closer to 25 as those who earned retirement should have not been included
the woman issue is another lie, thank you
you know nothing about taxes and those of us who really pay taxes, yes it would have effected the middle class with about a 20% increase in take home pay
another lie, thank you

Well, that makes Reagan a socialist by JRK's standards: raised the deficit sixteen times and taxes three times.

Oh, gosh.. there are so many, it's hard to choose. I think my top 3 would be Benghazi and GM and his claims that he cares about Small Business. That last, right on the heels of "You didn't build that."

This is the first election I ever voted for the Democrat.

Because, honestly, I hate Mormons with a rage that would blot out suns... I utterly despise them and frankly, any discussion after Romney was nominated was done.

Now, yeah, Santorum is a religious loon, but America is backward and religious and we'd never elect a common sense atheist. But he also a guy who got the fact that working folks were hurting in this recession. The biggest crisis was not his inability to afford a car elevator.

I think the problem of Statists and Corporatists, that's what we are stuck with, regardless. And frankly, that's pragmatism. I mean, you can vote for a crazy person like Ron Paul, but he couldn't govern in the real world.

We are at a point where corporations have more power than governments. Their earnings are greater than the GDP's of most nations. They control the media. So Wall Street controls our politics with a grip that the Ayatollahs in Iran would envy.

1) NONE, 100% greed by the lender and the lendee. Not sure what W or any politician was suppose to do to stop bank fraud

Bush had everything to do with it. This is what happens when you deregulate and allow financial inst. to conduct faulty practice. Going to 2 diff. wars and writing a trillion dollar RX plan for seniors that were never paid for. I could go farther into with you, but I think I might loose you.

2) He believes that wealth is a product of the govt and that the govt has a right to gibe that wealth to those who have done nothing to earn it

No once again you are batting 0 for 2. I guess this is where your socialist crap come into play. first off big biz. has never been booming more than now. also what you don't undertand is the GOV. IS needed in MANY situations, the way it is able to function, is though taxes. It also needs to be said, NO creditible econ. think tank will say trickle down econ works, also the top 1% are NOT job creators. once again I can go farther into it but I think it might just confuse you.

3) No-one lied as I recall, Really REALLY? weapons of mass destruction, connection between Osama and sadam, I hope I dont need to keep going on this. Also PLEASE PLEASE explain how beruit is any different, I will wait!

4) What loser policies and what debt did he inherit? he added 3-500 billion to Ws last budget (failed stimulus, last 50% of tarp. and the dollars added to the Ominbus bill) he also had majorities in both houses that could have eliminated all of it.

I kinda went into this on answer 1. but I guess I can humor you. the bush tax cuts, 2 wars unpaid, RX plan for seniors unpaid, housing bubble and faulty loans, derugulation of wall street, citizens united, NEED ME TO KEEP GOING?

5) I do not recall Romney claiming that medicare would pay for Obama-care and Romnies was bi partisan and the will of the people.

Were you, or are you from Mass? Because my family is from there and I can tell you, it was pushed though just like ACA was. It was not bi partisan. Also Obama is NOT claiming medicare will pay for the ACA, Also you seem to have forgotten about Regan as well. the ACA is a brain storm of the right wing, now you don't like it cause it was passed under Obama?

6) The Tax payer as well as GWB
Admirers of the GM bailout should bear in mind that it was the Bush administration that first decided to intervene at the firm, offering a bridge loan on the condition that it draw up a deeply revised business plan. President Obama’s unique contribution was effectively to nationalize the company, seeing to it that the federal government violated normal bankruptcy processes and legal precedent to protect the defective element at the heart of GM’s troubles: the financial interests of the UAW. It did this by strong-arming GM’s bondholders into taking haircuts in order to sweeten the pot for the UAW. The Obama administration also creatively construed tax law to relieve GM of tens of billions of dollars in obligations — at the same time that Barack Obama & Co. were caterwauling about the supposed lack of patriotism of firms that used legal means rather than political favoritism to reduce their tax bills.

First off, on this one you are like o for 4 all in one thought, Should I send you a link from the ALL the many right and left leaning as well as independent groups who prove you wrong, I will if you push the issue

Its people like you that remain in the bubble that caused the Republicans a CLOBBERING at the voting booth.

really?
what policies by congress with GWB signing had any part of the events?
One legislative event?

Not Bi partisan?
And what did have to do with medicare again?
No-one said we do not change with our health-care system
and as far as not stating medicare savings will help pay for it, Really?
Obamacare Robs Medicare of $716 Billion to Fund Itself

Last week, a new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report updated the amount of money Obamacare robs out of Medicare from $500 billion to a whopping $716 billion between 2013 and 2022.
According to the CBO, the payment cuts in Medicare include:
A $260 billion payment cut for hospital services.
A $39 billion payment cut for skilled nursing services.
A $17 billion payment cut for hospice services.
A $66 billion payment cut for home health services.
A $33 billion payment cut for all other services.
A $156 billion cut in payment rates in Medicare Advantage (MA); $156 billion is before considering interactions with other provisions. The House Ways and Means Committee was able to include interactions with other provisions, estimating the cuts to MA to be even higher, coming in at $308 billion.
$56 billion in cuts for disproportionate share hospital (DSH) payments.* DSH payments go to hospitals that serve a large number of low-income patients.
$114 billion in other provisions pertaining to Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP* (does not include coverage-related provisions).
*Subtract $25 billion total between DSH payments and other provisions for spending that was cut from Medicaid and CHIP.
In total, Obamacare raids Medicare by $716 billion from 2013 to 2022. Despite Medicare facing a 75-year unfunded obligation of $37 trillion, Obamacare uses the savings from the cuts to pay for other provisions in Obamacare, not to help shore up Medicare’s finances.

The CBO supplied this Info, the heritage and fox will be the only place you will find it
thats real money, not projected savings
and was Romney a GOP Governor? not bipartisan huh?

I noticed you ignored the thread again

No lie the outcome was inevitable. Obviously since no president should have been reelected with the economy where it is.

I wonder how PA can have a republican gov. and yet seldom ever vote for a republican president.

It's actually not that difficult to figure out. Ohio, Wisconsin, and Michigan also have Republican governors and all three of those states went to Obama, too. Says a lot that the Republican ticket couldn't carry Paul Ryan's state with a Republican governor that survived a heated recall attempt. Leads me to believe a lot of independent voters thought enough of the governor to vote vote with Republicans to keep him but didn't think enough of Romney/Ryan to help vote them in.

Thing is, everyone is not clearly R or D. There are a lot of independents who don't have a blind allegiance to either party. I think the Romney camp really underestimated this. And in the fervor to "solidify the base" offended and alienated a lot of independent voters. I am one of those. I voted for Rick Snyder (R-Michigan) for governor. Will likely do it again, since he's doing a really good job IMHO. I also voted for Obama in '08 and '12. Might've considered voting for a Republican in '12 ('08 ticket was laughable), but from the beginning there was no viable candidate put forward.

I am sometimes amused at how during primary season, the noise coming from the Republican side was "Anybody but Mitt". Then suddenly he became this near perfect candidate. Go figure.

A conservative news blog spin on a government report: there is something new.

"Socialism ( /ˈsoʊʃəlɪzəm/) is an economic system characterised by social ownership of the means of production and co-operative management of the economy,[1] and a political philosophy advocating such a system. 'Social ownership' may refer to cooperative enterprises, common ownership, state ownership, or citizen ownership of equity."

When did Obama call for government ownership of the means of production?

Actually, no, it was that the liberals used the "shiny object syndrome" and the lapdog media to airbrush obama while demonizing his contender, who had far more experience and ability to run the country. It's become very obvious that dems are either stupid or don't care at all about this country.....as long as they get their birth control, abortion, freebies, and making the other guy pay for "their" stuff.

The biggest lie was that the GOP's policies caused the bad economy.

Anyone who's been paying attention knows the Democrats sabotaged the economy.

Reminds me of the story a few years ago during the time Arnold was Governor. The Democrats in Sacramento got caught on a hot mic talking about ruining the California economy. Everyone in the statehouse was listening to them discussing screwing everything up. Some staffer ran in and told them that their mic on the intercom was broadcasting their meeting allover the place.

The Democrats just said it was a joke.

Very funny.......hah....hah.

What was the biggest lie that re-elected Obama?

The lie of omission by hiding his biography completely from the general public. We still don't know who Obama really is. We do, however, have a small glimpse into his desire to make America subject to a greater world court that would damage America's standing.

Only a silly write, "Anyone who's been paying attention knows the Democrats sabotaged the economy." What do you think our GOP was doing from 1994 to 2006, mud?
