What was the alternative?

trump could have & should have fired mcCabe himself, instead of having someone else do it. why is trump such a pussy? he didn't have the nads to fire comey... he sent his body guard to do it while comey was out of town & he was a chicken shit when it came to firing tillerson too. couldn't look the man in the eye but freakin' tweeted it instead?

so much for his 'you're fired ! ' persona he tries to pull off as real.

he's fake in every way possible.

Could you address any of the questions I posed in the op?

i did. sessions himself had no choice unless he wanted to go against his boss' directive & then get fired himself.

the alternative was not to have been put in the position of firing someone if it was trump who wanted the guy fired. he should have done it himself but wussed out..

So trump forced the fbi and inspector general to recommend firing McCabe?

trump prompted it. funny though how the 'great men & women of the FBI ' are only great when they do his bidding, when & how he dictates. otherwise they aren't so great, are they?

You know you're obsessed when you are annoyed at the WAY he fired someone.

lol... look up the definition of the word 'obsessed' & then you'll understand that you didn't know the definition of 'obsessed'. the WAY he fired someone was cowardly.

now look up the definition of 'coward' & you will find i was right.

You have to love the irony and partisan hypocrisy here when Sessions recused himself from investigations into the 2016 Presidential campigan which included any Russian interference on the recommendation of department ethics officials he was ripped by the right and praised by the left he now follows the recommendation of pretty much the same people again about what to do about Andrew McCabe and everyone switches positions the right praises him and the left trashes him. It's pretty sad how so many people now view right and wrong based on how it impacts their political goals and narrative.

The inspector generals office recommended McCabe be fired for misconduct. Was Sessions supposed to ignore that recommendation? Why?
“recommended”

There is nothing in the law or policy ‘compelling’ Sessions to do anything; in theory Sessions was at liberty to do nothing at all.

Asking for McCabe’s resignation and allowing him to retire would have been perfectly appropriate and warranted, supported by ample precedent.

Firing him was also perfectly appropriate, and warranted.

If it were you who lied to the FBI, your ass would be in jail even now. He should count himself lucky.
