Also, the 2% more votes came from a couple of states at best. Again, back to the football analogy, your team had slightly more total yards, but this number was skewed because of 2 plays one of which the defender pulled his hamstring which resulted in a 99 yard TD and the other where your team had too many players on the field(which the refs missed...AKA. ILLEGAL) and the extra guy caught a long 99 yard TD. Aside from these 2 plays, your team had 108 to 300 total yards. Everyone knows your team was over-matched, but you hang on to this total yards nonsense.
