Asides I hate the combination of an one-way theology (theology of atheism in this case) and physics in a university lecture and their contempt for people, who do not share their own religious belief. That's an ugly attitude of uneducated people. Can you please tell me what they say? As far as I understood (on a random basis) it has to do with the idea a multiverse could exist and an idea about that the big bang is not existing. In second case I would not understand why the universe expands. Do they say anything about why something exists at all? It's for me impossible to take a look into the universe and to think this all is a totally senseless loop in a mathematical view to the world.

The talk was at a Richard Dawkins Foundation (Dawkins is the guy doing the intro) meeting.

A famous English biologist, who got a Noble price. I read once from him the book "The Selfish Gene" in German ("Das egoistische Gen"). I missed the context of genes with the phenotypes of living entities. Very abstract.

I agree about his voice and the condescending attitude. My suspicion is some of what he says is because of that venue. It’s unfortunate because the subject matter is absolutely fascinating and his presentation, despite the above mentioned caveats, it impressive, so it’s too bad it won’t reach a larger audience.

The spiritually unmusical man Richard Dakwins let me sometimes think about, whether psychologically not only idiot savants but also genii ignorants could exist. I remember in this context for example the busses with Dawkins slogans like "Be happy god is probally not existing" and imagined in this context a man, who comes from a hospital, where his wife had died, and waits now for a bus. How could he be happy when he has to think now in this situation about god could propably not exist? It exist not only scientfiic or analytic problem solutions in our forms to think - but also exists for example a holistic way. I prefer slogans like: "Life is not always fair - but god still loves you".

I honestly don’t know how to summarize it well because the talk is broad ranging and builds on itself to make the points....and I’ve listened to it probably 7 or 8 times; being a biologist (Ha!) I find some parts of it hard to grasp and seem to only be able to follow them as he explains them. It concerns the Big Bang, Dark Matter/energy, the current composition and size of the universe, the history of various discoveries that let to the current bodies of evidence, a fascinating theory on the origin of the universe, and finally concluding with the picture of how the universe will eventually end. I hope you can maybe get past the presenter enough at some point to just be able to hear the actual talk. I think it’s worth putting up with him.

Very interesting themes. I read and read in my life a lot about. Lots of things changed meanwhile, but physics is always very interesting. As well in the biggest structures and the most little structures too. Nevertheless exist also problems in the world of our size. I would prefer for example all people worldwide would live in a much higher respect for all and every life. Life on Earth is perhaps the only life in the whole universe.

I asked myselve in this context, how someone is able to deny everything, what has to do with spirituality (= supernatural ideas in their eyes), when they ignore the same time, that our universe has on its own a kind of super-natural origin. Since the universe exists, nature is within this universe. But what was "before" (while there was the same time never anything, what was before, beause it looks like there was no before, when we take serios, what the theory of relativity and old Christian philosophers say).

You do not know if there is a heaven or hell. Hell has been created for Satan and his demons, but not the new heaven.

What I meant was death comes before heaven and hell. We all believe in death, and even if you think you'll live forever through other means, e.g. reincarnation, it still happens. The Bible states after death comes Hades or place for the dead. One's spirit has to reach the right part of Hades or else they are destined for hell. It also states that death means a state of being asleep. One still has consciousness, but they are in a sleeping state. Only a few who end up in the wrong part of Hades are awake and already suffering. I'm not exactly sure how they are suffering, but it has to do with fire. After that, most are in this sleeping state until they are awakened by the second coming of Jesus. Then, "all eyes will see" the kingdom, power, and glory of Jesus. Afterward, comes final judgement for all.

So, what do I consider evidence for heaven or hell? We have the science of neurology now that discusses consciousness after clinical death. They also explain how certain parts of our body trigger certain experiences. We also have near death experiences that have been properly documented. The stories that a child told about dying and visiting heaven is imaginary because the final heaven for us does not exist right now.

There is the heaven God and the angels reside in, but that isn't in our universe. However, the lake of fire or hell does exist now. That said, I do not have evidence for the last two except hypothesis. The lake of fire could have evidence in what we see on Earth such as

I don't think there is a gate to hell even though there are some strange "gates of hell" place/objects found that leads underground.
