LOL, that is way to faulty of a theory to make a conclusion. Bottom line there are crazy people that do crazy things. When you have 1.3 billion people, a repressive government then the probability of crazy people increase substantially.

I think the one child policy actually has the opposite effect. People tend to cherish their and other children more, but again their are alway crazies.

When you have 1.3 billion people a one child policy is necessary. Soon India will need a similar policy. Countries like Nigeria should have a limit, yet the West takes care of them and enables them.

I was discussing this with a chick at work the other day

She was pondering whether this pattern might be related to the one-child policy and the devaluation of human life (esp. that of children) in China.

There isn't enough info, but it's likely that the perpetrator was not married. China is heading towards social upheaval due to the lack of eligible women for men to marry. Given the importance of family in China, men who cannot marry and have a son are marginalized. A few of them are bound to snap and take out their frustration on the offspring of others who are fortunate to have families.

(In other news, women from North Korea are being imported as slaves in to rural China - likely for the same reason.)

Interesting isn't it? China encourages getting RID of Female children. Could they be engineering their OWN DEMISE?

I think it's far easier to engage in evil activity under an evil totalitarian government, but seriously, how far are we really from that?
