That's an easy one, the US government is run for the corporations by the corporations.
Oh, and just about every American politician who has any clout has been bribed. Is it clear?

In the past the silence of the Constitution was given a voice by statesmen. These were men (predominantly male) who knew how to govern, offered enough carrot but not too much to where people didn't think about the stick so needed legislation got debated and ultimately passed, and usually put the nation first.

Enter Lee Atwater on the political side and Wal*Mart on the social side...

Now we have a world where the silence of the Constitution is taken advantage of by opportunists who see government as a cool gig so they can do things like get good tee times, decorate their offices like Downton Abbey, and be on television every week. Meanwhile, the nation has moved from one that cared about quality to one that seeks band-aid solutions to problems....if something is broken; we seek to replace and not repair often as the first step. Such as it is with products, government officials, programs in everything from school to science to technology. If there is no immediate return on investment...the plan/program is scuttled.

In the end, America gets the government we deserve...that is always the case. It would be really great if the Parties would do some self-vetting and weed out those whom they know are there for strictly self promotional ends.

You think that is bad...the president involves himself and the Attorney General in local crimes around the nation at will. If they are the right color, you see. There was a black man who was breaking into his own house because he locked himself out. A neighbor, not recognizing him, called the police about a man breaking in the house. The police came, the black man yelled at them using racist rants and the police asked for his identification. He refused! But, he did call his friend, the president. Who in turn went on national TV saying the police were stupid without knowing the details of the case. Obviously, he wasn't busy with national or international affairs. He did the same thing two more times. Yes the presidency and the system is broken!

I'm not sure what country you live in, but are abortions available on demand? We have a controversy here about when and if abortions should be legal. Just when is a fetus a baby? At conception or sometime during the pregnancy? Some say abortion is murder unless the mother's ;life is in danger. How do you feel about this issue? What has your country said about the issue? I am thinking that it is normal to have an abortion where you are.
