NASA is a civilian agency and their charter prohibits the operation of weaponized space craft.
Weaponized space craft to defend us from WHAT? Aliens?

The airforce can't develop new vehicles?

We need a whole new branch of military to waste a fuck-load of money and get cronies rich off tax dollars doing jack shit?

Classified military spacecraft are launched from Vandenberg AFB in California.
Air Force Base --- Airforce

We've got a branch already set up.

At this time, NASA is incapable of launching any manned space vehicles.
So, are we getting rid of NASA? They sound useless.

This is wasteful redundancy at its finest.

I said that in an earlier post. The Space Command was founded back in 1982.

Personally, I believe NASA should be defunded from manned space missions, in favor of commercial space companies.

NASA / JPL should confine all their efforts to unmanned scientific missions.

Waste-of-fucking-money

So how do we stop an asteroid heading toward Earth if we dont have something to use to stop it?

And you think protecting our satellites is a waste of money?

You're an idiot.
NASA is already equipped, ready, willing and able to do whatever needs to be done. Why come up with a whole new branch of the military, is all I'm saying.

At this time? Why?
Why would a satellite protection vehicle need to be classified? Since it could protect the world, maybe we should team up with the other countries that have space programs and come up with something shared.

Quit trying to turn space into a war zone, too.

There have been lots of classified space missions deploying satellites.

As for why NASA can't launch a manned vehicle, well, they haven't got one and they're not funded for any more in the future.

I don’t care what we call it, but Mexico better damn well pay for it!

So it's funding. That's what I figured. Easily fixed. For less than another $$ gobbling branch of the military.
