What should we do about Communism in the US?

Communism is just another variant of Progressive.

You are all the same to me.

The fact that you can not tell different political beliefs apart says a lot about you - nothing at all about the political beliefs.

There are 8 - 10 very different political beliefs - learn to tell them apart.

Sorry Saigon, but people like Snippy Fired choose to define their words by whatever they think can scare people to their way of thinking.

They'd call Obama the Second Coming if the majority of the GOP were atheists, but, they're not, they're Christian, which is why they call him the anti-Christ.

ABiker -

It really disturbs me that people interpret the entire political spectrum as left/right black/white good/bad.

Do they really think Nelson Mandela, Stalin, Tony Blair and the Dalai Lama are on the same side?

Would Thatcher, Hitler, Churchill and Pat Robertson make a good team?

I think fairly obviously not.

Reading through this thread it is so clear that so many posters here do not know what the word 'communist' means.

I find that scarier than communism.

Actually, what I find scary is that people have internet connections, as well as a way to verify things to be true or false, yet most will not spend the extra couple of minutes to find out if someone is lying or not.

If December 21st, 2012 is when God comes back, I feel sorry for the GOP.

ABS, please don't play the far right or far left extremist moron role, please.

I wrote "From the world net daily, so take it for what it is worth. There is no direct link to the supposed tape of the discussion at the web site."

Crusader Frank said he had heard it and I asked him for a link.

OK?

From the world net daily, so take it for what it is worth. There is no direct link to the supposed tape of the discussion at the web site.

In a newly unearthed tape, Obama is heard telling Chicago’s public station WBEZ-FM in 2001 that “redistributive change” is needed, pointing to what he regarded as a failure of the U.S. Supreme Court under Chief Justice Earl Warren in its rulings on civil rights issues in the 1960s.

The Warren court, he said, failed to “break free from the essential constraints” in the U.S. Constitution and launch a major redistribution of wealth. But Obama, then an Illinois state lawmaker, said the legislative branch of government, rather than the courts, probably was the ideal avenue for accomplishing that goal.

In the 2001 interview, Obama said: If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court, I think where it succeeded was to invest formal rights in previously dispossessed people, so that now I would have the right to vote. I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order and as long as I could pay for it I’d be OK.

But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it’s been interpreted, and the Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can’t do to you. Says what the federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf.

And that hasn’t shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was because the civil rights movement became so court-focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that.

Obama rips U.S. Constitution

Hmmm.................there's no direct link to what you claim was said, so you submit this quote as a way to "prove" Obama said the Constitution was "fundamentally flawed"?

Those words don't appear in this quote.

However.................Obama does state that our Constitution is a charter of negative liberties, saying what the federal and state government can't do.

So are driving laws if you think about it..........they tell you what you can't do as well.

Try again...............fail...................

Communism and socialism are mere bugaboos of the weird far right. It is a non-issue.

Not just for the idiots who stupidly accuse our president of being Communist (... and Muslim, Marxist, Taoist, Pastafarian, and every other ism known to humankind) ... Nope, not just idiots should answer this one. It would be nice if intelligent people weighed in as well. (That leaves out Romney who has said Russia is our biggest enemy. Insert rolling eyes emoticon here)

So, anyone think Communism is a threat to us now? How about the other isms and belief systems? What are the threats we face now? And what should we do about the people who believe in them?

Thanks.

Being worried about 'communists' and 'communism' in America is a sign of having little important to worry about.

Former Amalgamated Transit Union local 689 president Mike Golash told an Occupy DC gathering on August 19, 2012 that his goal is to overthrow capitalism in the United States and institute a Communist government. (YouTube)Former Amalgamated Transit Union local 689 president Mike Golash, now an “Occupy” movement organizer, was caught on tape Sunday revealing his political goals: overthrowing capitalism in the United States and instituting a communist government.

“Progressive labor is a revolutionary communist organization,” Golash said during an Occupy DC “People’s Assembly” on August 19.

“Its objective,” he added, “is to make revolution in the United States, overthrow the capitalist system and build communism.”

Golash said he and his comrades are “trying to learn something from the historical revolutions of the past: the Russian revolution, the Chinese revolution, the revolutions in Cuba and Eastern Europe.”

“What can we learn from them so we can build a more successful movement to transform capitalist society?”

In various forms, obama has said many times that the nation needs redistributive change and the Constitution was deeply flawed. The Constitution is a colonial document. It did not reflect environmental issues and is immoral.

I think if you listen (or read) what Obama actually said about the constitution, you'll stop sweating.

Unless you consider the constitution the sacred word of God, it was a fairly uncontroversial statement.

You are a far right wack, Steph, a RINO, pretending to be a mainstream Republican.

You are fooling no one.

What should we do about Communism in the US?

1- Vote Libertarian

2) Abolish Government Schools

.

Right - throw your vote away, and reduce the levels of education and literacy.

Were your comments designed to end communism, or create a situation that might encourage it?

Ooooooooooooooooops, I forgot.

3) Buy More AK47's

Every politically controlled educational system will inculcate the doctrine of state supremacy sooner or later. . . . Once that doctrine has been accepted, it becomes an almost superhuman task to break the stranglehold of the political power over the life of the citizen. It has had his body, property and mind in its clutches from infancy. An octopus would sooner release its prey. A tax-supported, compulsory educational system is the complete model of the totalitarian state.
