What should the US response be?

Immediately recall our embassy staff from both nations, cut off ALL aid to both nations, freeze ALL US-held assets of both nations and let the motherfuckers cry like the bitches they are.

Since the embassies are our own sovereign territory we might just want to bomb them after they've been emptied. I'm thinking a couple megatons might send a clear message...

ETA: Collateral damage is a bitch, dontchaknow...

Collateral damage would still be murder. Not every Egyptian or Libyan had something to do with this situation.

An embassy is sovereign soil. An attack on an embassy is an attack on that nation just as if it was an attack on the nation itself. It is an act of war. The attacks in Libya and in Egypt are attacks on this county as if they had occurred in New York or Los Angeles. At the very least, no matter what else the response should be, it should NOT be an apology from our idiot in chief.

So, this blog just pulled this out of thin air? LOL!
Yes.

Before the attack in Egypt the state department issued a statement in an effort to alleviate the stupid video.

It didn't work.

There was no apology for the attacks by anyone but the Libyian government.

Did the U.S. apologize for the Cairo embassy attack?

CBS News) After a massive crowd of angry Egyptians began amassing outside the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, furious over an anti-Muslim film produced in the U.S., the embassy there released a statement saying it did not support any anti-religious efforts.

"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims - as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions," the statement began.

Conservatives have pounced on the statement, calling it an "apology," and the White House responded by saying it had not approved the statement before its release.

Ravi, perhaps you were legitmately not aware there was an apology made by the Embassy. I don't fault you for that. And I was not aware that the White House is trying to walk it back.
Truce.
The statement was released before there were any attacks. An attempt at diplomacy that failed.

A war with Libya would be fruitless and easy.

There is nothing left, no established forces or clearly marked targets.. They would blend in with citizens and use them as bullet shields.

Perhaps we can turn them into a glass parking lot?

Would that make things better?

I am sorry, it was an attempt at divisive humor.

No, it would not help anything.

Since when it is against any principle of jurisprudence in this country to hurt religious feelings?

The only thing the egyptians should get from us is a PROMISE of a lasting LESSON

That if it happens again............... Our Retaliation can be depended upon, the cost to them exorbitant in terms of destruction, our retribution will be swift and non-proportional, and the ferocity stunning.......

No matter the outcry.........

Radicals attack US embassy, Obama apologizes. Will Romney speak out? (UPDATE: Romney speaks out)

Here is the statement released Tuesday by the U.S. embassy, in its entirety:
The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims -- as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

I have given you article after article to prove that there was an apology and the White House was trying to walk it back.
1) There was an apology 2) The White House is trying it's best to disavow that apology 3) Reality sucks, but it is what it is.

The apologetic community organizer is covering his ass by blaming the embassy for releasing a statement independent of the white house.......LOL

Why is it always reactive? The embassies should have been beefed up and the Marines authorized to use deadly force to protect them. Actually it's probably good news to the Obama agenda which gains a little ground every time the US influence in the world is diminished. The Obama dream is a "level playing field" where the US is no longer a super power and is seen as nothing but another 3rd world country.

In Libya hunt them down, torture them then kill them.

In Egypt demand their military reign in the scum running their country and protect our Embassy.

Yes, the US should TORTURE terrorists to get intel before we kill them....what common sense. :eusa_whistle:

Oh, killing them is more "humane." :cuckoo:

Alan Colmes was on O'Reilly last night explaining killing terrorists isn't more violent than torturing them, while he tortured his own brain trying to explain it.
