What should happen to Pfc. Bradley Manning?

For those who don't know Pfc. Bradley Manning is the guy who gave Wikileaks all those documents and Wikileaks released them to the world.

By law, the United States can seek the death penalty for this act but choose not to.

Just wondering what you all think should happen to the guy.

Firing squad.

You would execute an innocent man?

He confessed to leaking classified documents not to mention the other digital records of online chats that incriminate him. So no I would not be executing an innocent man.

The man that actually outed her stated Cheney had nothing to do with it, But you keep believing the lies told to you.

And OJ had nothing to do with his wife's murder.

The man that actually outed her admitted he did so and was not charged, further he stated Cheney had nothing to do with it. You can believe what ever you want, the facts won't change.

And why do you think he was not charged?

Critical thinkers would look at the situation and wonder how in the fuck someone who admitted to a crime didn't get charged. And then they would have no choice but to assume it was in exchange for keeping quiet.

"However, concerns about possible repercussions from softening up Manning did little to ease the conditions that Manning faced. His Marine captors seemed eager to give him the business and make him an example to any other prospective whistleblowers. Only after a sustained public outcry was Manning transferred to the Army prison at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

"Though his treatment was less harsh there, Manning still has faced 2 ½ years of incarceration without trial and could face up to life imprisonment after a court martial into his act of conscience, i.e. releasing extensive evidence of wrongdoing by the U.S. military in Iraq and Afghanistan and questionable foreign policies carried out by the U.S. State Department.

"The release of the documents led to hundreds of news stories, including some that revealed the willful inaction of U.S. military brass when informed of torture inflicted on Iraqi prisoners held by the U.S.-backed Iraqi military.

The same punishment as 'outing' a CIA agent if you are in the Bush administration?

The person that "outed " her wasn't even charged. Go figure.

Cheney is and was a pretty powerful man with connections in high places.

He should have been charged. Oh well..but he had to give up a stooge.
Cheney had nothing to do with it.

Armitage admits leaking Plame's identity - CNN

But that won't stop you from bitterly clinging to your leftist fantasies.

The majority of libertarians are skeptical about the Plame incident. Not surprising that you're not.

I'm plenty skeptical, a political operative is suddenly a "secret agent' when her husband provides the party with fabricated reports that can be used against the hated opposition.

But you are a party member, not a Libertarian - so you really wouldn't understand. (Unless Rachel Maddow told it to you.)

What do think should have been done? Karma. What goes around comes around.

It's sad to see this break along partisan lines. Ultimately, Bradly Manning did the nation a service. I'm a BIG supporter of WikiLeaks. Had Manning been a civilian who leaked this information, he would be a hero. Still, the issue of a sworn service man, a Marine, violating his oath is a problem. This is a sticky situation as civilians don't have access to these kinds of documents, but we must have the oaths of the military upheld.

Dishonorable discharge and time served would be my desire for this.

Many, many, MANY years.
