I got this in an e-mail

Attention: Customer.

This is the second email we are sending you now after two weeks, if you
get this, we write to inform you that we have already sent you $5000.00
USD dollars (Five Thousand US Dollars) through Western Union as we have
been given the mandate to transfer your full compensation payment of
$500,000.00 USD (Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars) through Western Union
Money Transfer by this Government.

We shall be sending $5000.00 USD dollars (Five Thousand US Dollars)per
day for you to pick up from the nearest Western Union Money Transfer
office in your location.

Same old scam that's been going around for years. From what I understand most of these scams are originating in Algeria.

I think I'd run a complete in depth security scan on my computer if I were you to see what else is lurking there in the background.

I suspect with that "+00+ in the phone number you would not reach Bill Gates or anyone else he's said to be connected with in this e-mail.
 
That's funny, I keep getting secret admirer links to e-cards directing me to a PORN site. Some of them are from GIRLS.:eek:

very common thing called an advance fee fraud letter.

and that's nigeria, granny, not algeria, though i've gotten them from everywhere except the US and Canada, but they make up for it by sending me notices saying that i won lotteries i didn't enter.

do not waste any time on it at all. law enforcement on any level, starting with the ISP will do nothing. answering them just exposes your personal information to them which is one the things they're after.

and barb, if you give me any more pos rep for this post, you can count on getting more e-mail hitting on you and i won't keep it secret.
