What Republicans Argue When They Have Nothing Left to Say

Since Eisenhower, the only Republican President that was any good was George Bush Sr. They don't have any successes. They try to insist they brought down the Iron Curtain, but policies were followed that were been in place since WWII. They only had to do nothing for it to be a success. And Reagan was smart enough to "do nothing".

They've tried to take credit for getting Bin Laden after letting him go. They took credit for cornering Obama on the economy, even announcing they got 98% of everything they wanted. Then the economy was downgraded. Suddenly, they didn't mean it. It was Obama's fault.

I've asked again and again for Republican accomplishments. Not even the Republicans on this site can name anything worth while. I'm still waiting.

You mean like Billy Boy, just shrugged him off after the USS Cole bombing. Gotcha!!! No need to worry about "that terrorist".

The bombing of the Cole happened three weeks before the election of Bush.
What did you expect Clinton to do in the last ten weeks of his Presidency?
Bush had seven years and couldn't get Bin Laden

Before the Cole, Billy Boy had OBL literally in the gun sights of US Military. He would not give the order. Just think how different our lives would have been if he had just had the backbone to say 'go'. Thousands of Americans would be alive today - and they are dead. Now, for the record, I don't 'blame' Clinton for those deaths... but.... if you are gonna bitch about it.... be fucking honest. You boy fucked that call and it cost us our greatest treasure.... our fellow Americans.

Wow.......how profound and patriotic

But total Bull Shit

In fact, it was Clinton who recognized OBL as a serious threat, it was Clinton who actually ordered strikes to try to kill OBL before he was even on the radar. It was Clinton who came closer to killing the guy than Bush ever did.

And of course, it was Clinton who warned Bush about the threat of terrorism but Bush never even met with his top security advisor until right before 9-11

I'd say he's grasping at straws...........can we revisit what was in the President's budget plan?? Or how about a Dem budget plan??

I don't think this guy wants to go there. It's easier to say what the thinks is wrong with someone else instead of looking at his own party's failures.

It's almost comical that the left spends more time demonizing the right than touting the success of their own party. Could it be because there aren't many successes??

They kind of ignored the scorn from the economists when they were blaming Bush for high gas prices.

People who live in glass houses.................well I think you know the rest. ;)

what happened to that mandatory across the board budget cut thing that both parties agreed to?

if i told ya they lied to ya......would you believe me?....

al Qaeda was being monitored prior to Bush taking office, afterwards, an end to that program. Bush put off the memos, briefings and warnings.

Richard A. Clarke - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

. In his memoir, "Against All Enemies," Clarke wrote that when he first briefed Rice on Al-Qaeda, in a January 2001 meeting, "her facial expression gave me the impression she had never heard the term before." He also stated that Rice made a decision that the position of national coordinator for counterterrorism should be downgraded. By demoting the office, the administration sent a signal through the national security bureaucracy about the salience they assigned to terrorism. No longer would Clarke's memos go to the president; instead they had to pass though a chain of command of National Security Adviser Rice and her deputy Stephen Hadley, who bounced every one of them back.

Typical of the disaster that was the Bush Regime... incompetence from the highest to the lowest levels.

thats ok because im still waiting for your link saying how Republicans HATE science and want to END it.....

You mean "education is for snobs"? Who said that? You mean Republicans slashing education in every state they took control. Are you talking about people who believe science if a faith, evolution is a lie, and climate change is a conspiracy?

Are you talking about those people? Because even you know who they are. While I did say Republicans hate science, I never said they wanted to "end it". That's just stupid. A kind of weird thing to say. "End" science? You finally fell over the edge.

If politicians could actually "see" the future, Bush never would have invaded Iraq.

Robert Reich: What Republicans Argue When They Have Nothing Left to Say

Republicans are desperate. They can't attack Obama on jobs because the jobs picture is improving.

Their attack on the administration's rule requiring insurers to cover contraception has backfired, raising hackles even among many Republican women.

Their attack on Obama for raising gas prices has elicited scorn from economists of all persuasions who know oil prices are set in global markets and that demand in the United States has actually fallen.

Their presidential ambitions are being trampled in a furious fraternal war among Republican candidates.

Their Tea Party wing wants to reopen the budget deal forged with Democrats after Republicans got bloodied by threatening to block an increase in the debt limit.

So what are Republicans to do now? What they always do when they have nothing else to say.

Call for a tax cut, of course.

It doesn't matter that their new "tax reform" plan (leaked to the Wall Street Journal late Monday, to be released Tuesday morning) has as much chance of being enacted as Herman Cain has of being elected president.

It doesn't matter than the plan doesn't detail how they plan to pay for the tax cuts. Or whether an even bigger whack would have to be taken out of Medicare than Paul Ryan's original voucher plan -- which would drowned many elderly under rising medical costs.

It doesn't even matter that the plan would probably raise taxes on many lower-income Americans,

All that matters is the headlines.

LMAO!

The view of Republicans from one of the most committed leftist in the country not surprising or interesting.

If Hillary had not voted to invade Iraq, she would be President now

He treated the first shot in a war as a police matter. He screwed up. Badly.

Obama wished to continue that precident by trying combatants civilly in court rahter than execute them.

Bad move on Obama's part.

Clinton caught the guys who did WTC 1

It was Bush who treated the threat of terrorism as beneath him
