Obama's eagerness to show Mubarak the door is resulting in a country more opposed to the US than before...

CAIRO — Islamists claimed a decisive victory on Wednesday as early election results put them on track to win a dominant majority in Egypt’s first Parliament since the ouster of Hosni Mubarak, the most significant step yet in the religious movement’s rise since the start of the Arab Spring.

The party formed by the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s mainstream Islamist group, appeared to have taken about 40 percent of the vote, as expected. But a big surprise was the strong showing of ultraconservative Islamists, called Salafis, many of whom see most popular entertainment as sinful and reject women’s participation in voting or public life.

Analysts in the state-run news media said early returns indicated that Salafi groups could take as much as a quarter of the vote, giving the two groups of Islamists combined control of nearly 65 percent of the parliamentary seats.

That victory came at the expense of the liberal parties and youth activists who set off the revolution...

So what should Obama have done? Sent troops to prop up Mubarak?

that probably would have been a better alternative to the one we have now....

it's what stupid airheaded liberals wanted.....does an election always equate to democracy....?

just watch this "democracy" evolve into something not quite so "democratic"....

ask the relatives of the dead christians what they think....

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Fear mongered, bigotted, ignorant Pub dupes....

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Blow-Back. Our new puppets in Libya,Egypt, and Iraq will turn on us at some point. And so our vicious circle foreign policy continues round & round. Our Politicians our so corrupt.

Where you expecting a mandate for Christians?

I was expecting a true democracy not a theocracy...

However democrats YET AGAIN....

Democrats want the Muslim Brotherhood up in there (a group they know nothing about BTW)...

We let them run their own country the way they want too.

Self determination.

A radical notion.

Should we have let the Nazis run their country how they want?

Did we let the Confederacy run their country how they wanted?

No. Because evil bastards shouldnt be allowed to torture, murder and oppress their people when there are good men who are willing to stop it.

that probably would have been a better alternative to the one we have now....

You’ve got to be kidding.

And of course you and others on the right would have pilloried Obama for inappropriate foreign interventionism or use of military without Congressional approval if he had sent troops.

The problem is liberals treat all cultures and religions as equal. And they are not. Some cultures believe in torture, jailing women who are raped or stoning them to death, beheading those who dont believe in their religion, killing gays for being gay. As time has gone by, Christianity, Buddhism, etc, have all evolved for the better. Islam has evolved for the worse.

And Obama helped yet another nation go Islamic rule. Good fucking job.

No. He could have maybe just not cheered on and encouraged the Islamic radicals trying to rise up in that nation. Maybe just openly support Mubarik.

Obama is sympathetic to Islam. He thinks that religion is either harmless, or that their violent cause is a worthy one. He's wrong on both.

Do you know the difference between the 1860's and the 1940's???

The only thing the "confederacy" was running was the DNC in 1940, they're called the KKK. You know those funny men in pointed hats??
