The50s WERE better than the nightmare times of today

I'm sure no one misses their microvascular nerve compression.

That would be neuralgia nostalgia.

The 50s were better because most people expected (and rightly so at the time) that times were getting better.

In some ways we're actually materialistically better off, but as we see that things for most of us are getting worse, we're less happy than we were in the 50s.

Nostalgia was much better in my day.
