After 9/11, it was important for everyone to

GET THE TRUTH, which we never did from

1. the Dems
2. the GOP
3. the media

Using 911 to someone who understands science doesn't work. It only works on sub humans who don't...

I'll save myself a lot of typing by saying I'm firmly in Trump' corner.
This country was headed in the wrong direction.

Getting the truth from anybody in DC or from the media ain't easy, but if you are implying that 9/11 was a conspiracy by the US gov't then you are stark raving nuts.

OP? Both. But we HAVE to do something about the pander to the rich GOP, its total bs for the chumps, and the slow ruin of the middle class and the country that lack of money produces. See sig.
state-local-federal-taxes-income.jpg

That's basically a flat tax, unfair to the nonrich and the country. The rich are making out like bandits. And Trump wants ANOTHER big tax cut for them. Ridiculous, and he's turning away from all the country first bs and his promises. Seems like all the GOP really wants is low taxes on the rich, and probably a corrupt bubble and a stupid war.

Since America is an idea based on freedom then it's ideology first. When the left wants to institute policy such as the socialist ones that always end in failure why would I support the country in doing that?

It depends. My country says it's a crime to smoke marijuana in my home. My Ideology wins on that measure. I'd like to think my ideals on freedom and liberty are not that different than the country that was founded on those principles. When they do I probably would go with mine over country.

False dichotomy.

I hold to conservative principles because i love my country. They are the principles that built our nation. Limited government. Hard work. Self government. Etc. I believe that man can govern himself. (whether he will or not is another matter)

It's precisely because I love my country that I fight for life liberty and the pursuit of happiness for me and my countrymen.

How do people find truth when they deny it exists?

They make up their own version of what is true and go with that. And then they denigrate anyone who disagrees with them as fools, or subhumans.

Here's the deal. We are a divided county, and yet most of us - sadly not all - would like to see all of us treated fairly by a government, notwithstanding which party is in power, where win-win policies replace the zero sum game we've seen for too many decades.

Without throwing bombs at either party - and it is very hard for me to not pick the side most of you know I support - let's try to offer some solutions to the schism, rather than feed the flames of dissension.

* County First is defined for the purpose of this thread, as a group of policies which treat all of our citizens equally - before the law and within this thread.

I have a list of ideas I will publish at the end of the time others have has their say.

Not clearly enough defined, "equally" means something different almost to each disparate group within this Nation. Be it the law, be it income, be it work related et al.

That's exactly correct, language means/determines everything, unless we define and agree on said definitions this is an exercise in futility.

Are we country first if we have to agree we should be a communist nation? No. The USA only works as a capitalist small government country. That's kind of why we have the problems we do now.
