The premise is a blasphemous joke in the poorest of taste, as Christ never promoted helping your neighbor and/or supporting charity by compulsion.

Isn't a church, by its very nature a socialist entity?

Socializing and Socialism are not the same. Revenue in the church is raised by appealing to the charity of the members. Revenue in a socialist society is obtained at the point of a gun.

People contributing to a church treasury do so out of compassion, guilt or pride. People contributing to the treasury of a socialist society are forced to do so.
