What is Zionism?

The ideas and beliefs of Hitler seem to me very similar to a religious cult, more so than an ideology or political movement.

Certainly, Soviet communism ran (in the sense of what motivated the people) on a faith in the 'new socialist man', rather cold comfort and removed from daily life. Hitler's weltanshauung was a real, fully developed program of building on the reality of an Aryan race destined to rule or be expunged. He believed, with a fervor shown only in religion, in this social and racial necessity to raise the "Deutschen volke" to their destined position of dominance of all and everything.

That is what gave him the power to so effectively impute to his people his now laughably ridiculous imaginings that do not even deserve to be called theories. But 'they' bought it. Nice, pleasant, well-educated, civilized Germans gassed prisoners, shot civilians and gratuitously destroyed in immense proportions for this 'will to power' (der Wille zur Macht). Soldiers just carrying out orders did the killing, not Hitler personally.

That is how soldiers are.

That is how people are.

We now know, especially through genetics, that all those old ideas about 'race' have as much place in the world as pre-Newtonian physics. He may not have been crazy (a sadly large number of people in the west and east believed essentially the same things as der Fuhrer), but you could not be more wrong than he.

Zionists are not like Hitler's movement (I would defy anyone to show verified quotes where superiority for their 'race' is proposed). We might find their precepts in error, as we do the Nazis', but that does not make them similar in any other way.

Some will try to tell you that Zionism is merely the right of Israel to exist.
Is there anyone who disagrees?

But, "by their actions they shall be judged":

Words of the Zionists - Today's Quote
David Ben Gurion
Ben Gurion is considered one of the three founding figures of Zionism beside Chaim Weizmann and Herzl.

A month after the Nazi pogrom against Germany's Jews, famously known as Kristallnacht, he stated on December 7, 1938: "If I knew it was possible to save all [Jewish] children of Germany by their transfer to England and only half of them by transferring them to Eretz-Yisrael, I would choose the latter----because we are faced not only with the accounting of these [Jewish] children but also with the historical accounting of the Jewish People."

Now you've reduced yourself to LYING! Why?

And, you think you can read people's minds?
Newsflash: Assholes like ben-Gurion are quoted in many places. What part of that is so hard to understand?

But, thanks for the link- it sounds interesting.

PS-The link I gave GIVES THE ACTUAL QUOTE, so you don't have to worry about reading a book. You're welcome.

Haven't you heard? "Thou shalt not bear false witness!"

Though I haven't checked YOUR link yet, I have no doubt you found it there- just like the other TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND results that come up when you Google the quote.

Besides which, I think YOU'RE the one who's embarrassed- you're whining about WHERE the quote came from, but you aren't DISPUTING that ben-Gurion said that.

Why is that, little Jullian?
PS- Read my initial post more closely for further clues!

Achtung, Jillian, Der Alte Herr Professor Virtual E-man thinks he is giving you words of wisdom. I wonder if he can tell us the latest what Benny Morris now says. It's such a joke seeing these supposed quotes being pulled up for years and years by the anti-Semites of the message boards. With regard to one quote, a poster on another board, when visiting Israel, actually went to the newspaper office and asked them if they actually printed one of the quotes. The newspaper looked in their archives and said they never printed anything like that. One really has to take all these supposed quotes with a grain of salt.

Zionism is a kind of nazism, a belief in a nationalist, socialist utopia for one specific race -- complete with brutality against and exploitation of all other races.

zi·on·ism/ˈzīəˌnizəm/
Noun:
A movement for (originally) the reestablishment and (now) the development and protection of a Jewish nation in Israel.

Our Nazi types are compelled to apply their own definitions.
