What is wrong with progressives?

If all men are created equal, that is final.

The creation process might be equal, but after that, it's pretty much a crapshoot.

As it should be.
I think the opposite. The creation process is a crapshoot - Bell Curve, for example - but that is not under man's control. What we can control is that simply because we are all created as humans (thus equal in that aspect), the Constitution ensures that all of us are equal under the law. As it should be.

I try to understand where the left is coming from - I really do. But this nonsense about "progressing" is just maddening. First of all, they never say what they want to progress TO. What is progress for them? Communism? Socialism? Nazism?

In their attempt to "progress", they are now attacking the US Constitution. Time magazine (ie Obama magazine) just wrote a huge article about how the Constitution is no longer relevant. The US Constitution is the world's only PERFECT document. It's perfect because it guaranteed our freedoms. Because it guaranteed it would keep government SMALL and out of our lives. And most of all, because it recognized it's own imperfections and built in a process to edit it when necessary. How exactly do you "progress" past perfection - I guess that's why progressives won't define what they are trying to progress to? Because answering with Communism, Socialism, or Nazism would have a negative effect on their "progress".

If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance - no "progress" can be made beyond these propositions!!!!

:eusa_liar: :cuckoo:
The left tries to bring society from outdated principles. Progressiveness has NOTHING to do with the Constitution. Allowing honest, equal people to marry who they want, worship who they want, give birth to who they want and live free lives is Progressiveness. Communism, Really!?

How can the right go arround whorshiping the constitution and in the same breath speak of their massive hate for government?

I'm sorry - where exactly does it say in the US Constitution that you must "love" government? Furthermore, I would LOVE my government if it actually adhered to the Constitution! God, I would WORSHIP my government if it adhered to the US Constitution. The federal government was intended to be the SMALLEST form of government, and is granted 18 SPECIFIC enumerated powers. Those powers do NOT include things like The Department of Education (completely unconstitutional), Social Security (completely unconstitutional), Welfare (completely unconstitutional), Obamacare (completely unconstitutional), Department of Agriculture (completely unconstitutional)... and about 8,000 more. Should I go on? When the nightmare that is progressivsim reverses course on this monstrosity of a federal government and forces it to adhere to the law of the land (which was specifically designed to limit its power in order to maximize OUR power), I will absolutely LOVE my government. Until that time, their illegal actions and blatant disregard for the Constitution earns them the hate they deserve.

You are not the final arbitor of the definition of the constitution.

You can pretend anything you want about it, the Scotus doesnt agree with you and your defintions of it are meaningless

The Constitution is written in black and white and cannot be denied, even by liberals who would prefer to do so. There is NOTHING to "arbitor" or "define" about it. The federal government is delegated (key word) 18 enumerated powers by the states. The power belongs to the states - by law.

90% of the problems in America today are the handy work of Progressives. The other 10% of the problems are caused by Democrats.
