What Is This Secular Thing?

90% of the southern and southwestern U S votes by the dictates of the Christian faith. 75%of the population claims to be a Christian. Secular?

It would be like saying Iran is Christian
People vote by their beliefs. You do, too.

But apparently, it's only bad when people vote by their Christian beliefs.

Bull. It's bad when Christians want to turn the US into a theocracy. The New Apostolic Reformation, for example.

We all vote our conscience. Somehow Christians think they're the only ones who have one.

I don't remember any politicians being told by anyone in the US, be it at the state level, or federal level...that they can't vote a certain way because they're christian.

Am I missing something?

They USE parts of it but the USA is not a theocracy and can never be one.
.

Really? I think that's exactly what the Republican party is shooting for.

Preserving stem cells at all costs while research could save hundreds of thousands of lives

Supporting any effort or activity to force young women to have unwanted children when the world is already full of them.

Supporting Israel against those who they have conquered and occupied and whose lands they have acquired through war.

Maintaining control and power and allowing the less fortunate to suffer while they put hundreds of billions of borrowed dollars into military research and development.

Standing in the way of the advancement of ordinary working Americans at any juncture.

Don't tell me about Republicans...I was one when they were a good political party.
It's a damn shame you belief all that horseshit about the GOP, then.

We are the first nation on this earth to recognize that we have rights from God and freedom of all religions.
America is based on God, family and knowledge and the socialists of this nation has attacked these principle's very heavily for the last 50 years or so.

I don't know of any other nation's basis for government that says people are born with all rights and they're not granted by government.
Do you mean before?..or after the US did in the late 1700's?

Republican platform is against stem cell research, it is against reproductive rights, it is pro-Israel and anti-Palestinian, it is pro guns and military and it is against workers rights.

Yeah, not really seeing how your victim-of-Christianity fantasy has anything to do with reality.

Yes, you're missing where I said that.

It's obvious Cammpbell doesn't like people voting according to their faith...when then faith is Christianity.

Are you going to tell me you don't notice Ann Coulter saying liberals are godless?

The GOP thinks its the party of God and no other citizens have conscience or religion.

"against stem cell research"
No, against government-funded embryo stem cell research. Get it right.

"against reproductive rights"
No, against using abortion as a convenient method of birth control to kill inconvenient babies. Get it right.

"pro-Israel and anti-Palestinian"
When the Palestinians prove they're capable of running their own nation not dedicated to killing Jews, then I'll support them having their own country.

"pro guns and military"
Not seeing anything wrong with that.

"against workers rights"
No, against union thuggery and extortion. Get it right.

I don't read Coulter, and as I seem to have to keep reminding you, I'm not responsible for anyone's views but my own.
The GOP thinks its the party of God and no other citizens have conscience or religion.
No, that's your fantasy talking again.

Without commenting on what Cammbell said.....I don't think there are any victims of religious persecution in the US.

Everybody can go to church, worship how they will, without breaking any laws.

Atheists are not forced to get religion either.

I don't get the hubbubb

Yep. I was right. You're against reproductive choice. You're pro Israel. You are into guns and the military and you're against unions and workers rights.

You're against stem cell research unless one of your private corporations gets to profit from it.

Not true.

Good guess though.

You are so far left you can't see the right thing. The ONLY thing you leftist progressives will end up with is Sharia Law. Is that acceptable???

Hollanders had religious and economic freedom in the early 1500's, which included freedom to persue life liberty and happiness. I thought somebody here said America was the first to have that?..
