What you say is true and it's one of the reasons I am in favor of term limits. Nobody should be allowed to serve more than two terms in an elected position. This doesn't mean you can be a member of the House for two terms and then run for Senator or vice versa. Two terms and you're out. I also don't believe these congressmen deserve a life-long pension for just serving one term in Congress. That's complete bullshit. Want to really save the taxpayers some money? Knock off about 2/3's of all the perks Congressmen get. Serving in Congress should be something somebody does out of "duty to country" not to become wealthy. There should never be any "career politicians".
