What if...

Romney would make McCain look stronger on the question of economics, but that's about it. Rudy would bring nothing to the table that McCain doesn't already bring himself.

Romney or Rudy had been chosen as Mac's running mate?

McCain wouldn't be running as close as he is. Neither candidate energizes the far right of the GOP like Palin. Huckabee would have, but he wouldn't relate to the electorate like Palin. Palin was a genius pick, it was brilliant. However it also took genius and brilliance to create the atomic bomb.

And if she's thrown into the Presidental chair sooner rather then later because McCain kicks the bucket, we got ourselves a ticking, winking, "Say it ain't so Joe" bomb running the White House.

No contest. I think Sarah is way hotter than Rudy in a dress.

As opposed to losing in a landslide where Obama gets NORTH CAROLINA?

LOL, your missing the point...Republicans never expected to win. Six months ago it was a forgone conclusion that the Dem's were going to win.

Then they nominated Senator Obama and it was a whole new ballgame.

Six months ago I would have never believed that 25 days to election day the Democratic candidate would be leading by less than 6 points (RCP).

That the Republicans even have a shot at the White House is a testament to the failings of Barack Obama.

Anyone who is honest, Democrat or Republican, will say they never imagined the race would be this tight.

And who knows, McCain may pull it off.

If this is what you have to tell yourself to make it more tolerable, then go for it.
