I wish more people understood this.

It's highly unlikely that either party is going to have free reign after the elections. Therefore, either they work together or the ship continues to sink. And the only way they're going to work together will be if "leaders" within the parties are successful in building consensus across party lines. But that would require political bravery - does anyone see any of that right now?

All the chest-pounding and platitude-spewing from the absolutists from both parties is nothing more than narcissistic bullshit. These people should just fess up - they'd rather watch us sink under gridlock than give in.
