Not fucking there !
I've learned to make brine hams, corned beef from a brisket, pickles, better biscuits, brain tan a pig hide, suture better, make sisal rope, build tube doors.....etc......etc.
If there were only one thing allowed to view on the internet, YouTube gets my vote.:eusa_angel:

I have learned how to put on a niqab, a somewhat wasted skill, since I am not a muslim!

I already know how to paper and paint walls, fix the garage door, oil paint, play the paino, type, do my hair, wipe my butt (with toilet paper), etc. etc. etc.

5 replies. YouTube is the only way for murkins to get a decent education.
I just bought a new digicam, read all of the bad reviews, read the user manual and implemented the tricks within, viewed a few video reviews, and found out ( as I figured) it's a fantastic little camera.
It aint murkin proof but it's bad to the bone.

That HUGE amounts of BS needs to be filtered out of the Internet to find a very small percentage of GREAT STUFF.

You can find lots of printed books that claim to explain computers that do not mention or explain von Neumann machines. Duh, what's a bus?

Youtube is a great tool.

I have an Olympus E-P2 which blew my mind when I first bought it. Great thing is I can still use my Leica lens. But auto settings and variety is more than enough, and sensor is strong enough for great existing light shots. It used to be all the decisions were made outside the camera now they are all inside. I still love (and do) black and white Tri X film and printing, and its archival qualities. But Epson now claims archival color inks.

Youtube is great for music and children love the kid's stuff, keeps them occupied sometimes. Who hasn't heard wheels on the bus go round and round a million times in all its versions hasn't lived.

Some fascinating scholarly stuff and science too. TED or Edge are good too if you are into science and philosophy.

And if you have been married as long as we, you can even find songs to dedicate to your loved one. ;) A few favorites below that one.

Interesting to say the least edit: old version was better but this will do.

How to cut crown moldings especially those outside corners with their crazy angles..

I bought a nice butterfly knife (balisong) at the flea market about a year ago.

YouTube has many tutorials from beginner to advanced on how to twirl it and do tricks.

I have gotten pretty good with it and haven't cut myself yet.

Ya know the old saying;

Give a million monkeys typewriters they will eventually produce the works of Shakespear.

Well, with the creation of the internet, we know that's not true.

Now with youtube, we have learned, that if you gave a million monkeys vidoe cameras they won't produce Gone with the Wind, or even such classics as "Attack of the killer tomatos".

If I need help with something, I'll ask these people called "freinds".

You remeber. Those "people" you "hung out with".

That the not so bright outnumber the brighter ones in America. Either that or the brighter ones do not post much on youtube.

The only thing I can think of that I learned on youtube is that a bird can dance.

And that apparently the video got sold to a corp since it was pulled from youtube.

A couple of minutes of watching amateur video might be a waste of time? Reading a book might be more instructive than a faked video? What you see might not be honest? Myth-Busters makes a career out of busting you tube fakes.
