What has the Republican Party done effectively or gotten correct?

Unfortunately a Republic doesn't work the way the OP is trying to assume. The only way anyone can get anything done is if you work together when ether or both houses of Congress and the White House aren't on the same page. Fact is Obama hasn't done much ether other than split us apart. If you think being days away from going over a cliff progress then so be it.

I don't know what you're trying to say. Does this mean there's nothing the Republicans achieved during their unified control of government that you're proud of?

It sounds like you're trying to imply that was a time of gridlock (somehow) and that they didn't get to do anything. Obviously, that's false. They got their fiscal policies through, they passed their education agenda, their Medicare prescription drug program, their new Department of Homeland Security, their wars, they even got their emergency Terry Schiavo legislation through. They got action on their priorities.

So it shouldn't be difficult to answer which ones Republicans are most proud of.

You expect a serious answer when in your OP you say that Republicans have pushed rape?

My serious answer is "thank you for making it so easy for me to see that there's no percentage in opening your threads in future."

pushed rape?

meh... but certainly tried to redefine it.

Rape, sexual harassment of women, cigar tricks, adultery and lying about it became acceptable to Democrats during the Clinton years and continues to this very day.

creeper

You know, I said this partially seriously in another thread but then I realized I think it's true. I cannot think of a single thing the GOP has done effectively or done correctly in the last decade. Aside from pushing religion, war and rape what exactly have these people done for Americans? You also have to look at the colossal failures of the Tea Party and John Boehner. Sarah Palin running away from her elected office like a silly twat for money and fame. The hilarious trainwreck that was the Romney campaign. And creating a North Korean like mindset where everything is the strawman liberals' fault.

Please enlighten me, what has the GOP done that has been positive for this nation?

And please keep in mind, I'm not attacking conservatives or conservative ideology in this thread. I'm genuinely curious what the Republican Party has done that's been good.

What have Democrats done right which hasn't involved buying off voters with borrowed money from our grandchildren?

Yes indeed, the truth about Democrats core values is creepy.

Also consider that the Republican Party started with their opposition to slavery while Democrats still oppress African Americans under the guise of social welfare.

When considering reducing the size of government, states rights over federal power grabs, individual rights over government intrusion, free speech, gun rights, women's suffrage and following the Constitution, the Republican Party should at least get credit for hindering the Democratic/Socialist Parties undermining of these freedoms and such along the way..

The only things that come to mind that would be positive to the Nation as a whole were accomplished by individual republicans, such as CJ Warren’s bringing the Constitution more in line with the Framers’ original intent, protecting the civil liberties of all Americans. Or where republicans worked in cooperation with democrats, such as the Nixon WH embracing positive public policy such as affirmative action and protection of the environment.

Of course that was decades ago before republican became insane and irresponsible.

the size of government

The party that gave you the Department of Homeland Security, Medicare Part D, and No Child Left Behind?

states rights over federal power grabs

The party of federalizing tort and marriage law?

individual rights over government intrusion, free speech, gun rights,

The party that has yet to recognize a right to privacy that the government must respect, designed the post 9/11 surveillance state, feels the need to legislate what pediatricians can and cannot discuss with families, literally made a federal case out of the Schiavo family's dispute, etc? Clearly we could go on.

I'll give you gun rights.

women's suffrage

Thank goodness for that. If women couldn't vote the GOP would be winning elections.

Why bother. You'll just come up with some smarmy answer to everything I say, so what's the point?

Every single thing the GOP has done has been torn to pieces by the media and Democrats for years so I don't see the point to it. Democrats have been criticizing everything about them and has had the mainstreamers dreaming up flaws in everything. I'm sure if I point something out you'll have some biased study with facts and figures to prove that it wasn't as effective as advertized. I've pretty much given up on expecting honesty from your lot.

A perfect example was this morning while watching MSNBC they lambasted one movie and while gushing all over another. They panned "Zero Dark Thirty" while praising "Django". The primary complaint with "Zero Dark Thirty" was the use of torture while "Django" was praised because it represented slaves breaking their chains. They forgot to mention all of the overt racism and gun violence it contained, regardless of the fact they had spent the last hour or so complaining about guns.

After witnessing this I don't expect honesty from anyone representing the left....ever. MSNBC is the Obama Administration approved propaganda arm dressed up as news programming. Kind of a serious Daily Show and much less entertaining.

They have opposed the commie cancer spread by Obabble.

Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin squashing the power-hungry and free-loading public sector union, and getting reelected after the recall by a wider margin than he was elected originally.

Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina nominating a decent man, Tim Scott for the Senate to replace Jim Demint.
