Hello fellow Republicans...

This is my first post here, thank you for having me...

I know what I want to talk to you all about, but I'm not sure where to start...

I guess I'm just really disappointed with the lack of support that I see for Ron Paul around here... Honestly, I just don't know what you guys are thinking...

Romney? No way in HELL can a self-respecting conservative vote for this guy! In 2004, he's 100% pro-choice... Come 2008, he's "going to be pro-life president"... Plus he loves Obamacare, despite his claim that he'll repeal it, yeah, just like Obama was gonna end the war... Come on, we cant vote for this guy!

Perry? He's just a mess... His policies are questionable to say the least, and he just doesn't come across as being at all trustworthy... And why would we trust him? The dude was Al Gore's lap-dog and a Democrat for the first half of his career... Again, no self-respecting Republican would vote for this guy!

So there's the top-2 guys that Fox News is (or has been) trying to push as possible "front-runners", both are RINO's and should not be considered credible conservative candidates...

So who's left?

Cain? He's got a past that's coming back to haunt him... And besides that, all he can say is 999, he's always dodging questions by saying that "he'll surround himself by experts and rely on their opinions", or something to that effect... America will not be buying the 999 that he is selling, it just wont work!

Santorum, Bachman, Newt, Huntsman? Maybe one of these guys could have been sold if they hadn't already been largely ignored by the conservative media, but if the media all the sudden goes full force in support of one of these guys, the voting public will view it as a desperate act on the part of the Republicans...

That leaves just one...

Ron Paul is completely ignored by both the conservative and liberal media outlets... Despite this, Ron Paul has more real world support than any politician in the world... If given the nomination, Ron Paul would destroy Obama at the polls! He already gets the majority of the votes from the military, from the youth, all the libertarians, and most from the "Occupy" and "Truth" movements... If he was given support from Fox News, he would be unstoppable, because he already has the kind of grass-roots support that any other politician would kill to have...

And here's the kicker, not only would our party win, but we would actually be making the best decision for America...

And by the way, why is it that the media ignores and/or slanders a great man like Dr.Paul??? Better yet, why do you allow it to happen without a fight???

Ron Paul is a TRUE conservative, definitely more of a true conservative than Romney or Perry... So what's the problem here?

Being a "conservative" means to conserve the ideals of the constitution! WTF did you think it meant?

Can you not make a decision unless your TV is in accordance with it? I know the Democrats have all but accepted a communist/socialist society, but damn it, I expect better than that from this party!

We are the party that leads! We are the party that votes on principles and morality! We are the party that protects freedom and liberty!

WAKE UP!
This party has been asleep at the wheel for too long and America is suffering for it!

‘Were,’ perhaps – that party hasn’t been around since the mid 60s.

Otherwise what happen was the GOP sold its soul in a Faustian bargain with the radical right and religious fundamentalists in an effort to expand the ‘base.’

No, I think we still are... The younger generation are definitely beginning to lean towards the Republican Party, and Ron Paul has a lot to do with that... We're redefining what it means to be a conservative, and this party will lead the revolution that will restore the Republic and our constitution...

You sound as though you're also not happy with the state of this Party, but again, we're the principled party, you must not accept this from the GOP and the conservative media... We must take a stand, we must support Ron Paul...

Ron Pauls foreign policy scares the crap out of me.... he wants to extend a hand of friendship to Iran. Thats enough for me to never vote for him in the primaries.

I would vote for him over Obama, but then again.... I would vote for bugs bunny over Obama.

Sorry man. One of the most important things to me is a president that understands the world we live in, Our National Interests, and How to Defend them, and our Country. From the very real Dangers we face.

No matter how much I might like what Paul says about the Economy, or Limiting the Fed, or spending, etc. I simply can not get over his fairytale Defense and Foreign affairs ideas. He basically wants the US to close all the bases, bring everyone home, and hole up in a shell and hope the distance protects us. The Problem is this isn't the 20th Century anymore. America can no longer Depend on the Vast Oceans that Separate us from most of our Enemies to protect us. Only a very Proactive, Strong Offense, can defend against the Threats we face today.

As you're finding out here, Mr. Turtle, almost everyone finds things to vehemently disagree with Ron Paul about. That's the problem with him.

But then, there's a deeper problem within the GOP, and that's the fact that it has become so extreme it's like a cult rather than a political party. Anyone pure enough for the cult is also someone who could never win a national election, but just like true believers in any cult it's often hard for the purists to see this, or to understand what a tiny fraction of the population they actually represent.

The only way for the Republican Party to ever regain its days of greatness is to sadly disappoint you and all other true-believer "conservatives." That's a fact. The only Republicans that can win a national election are RINOs, pretty much by definition.

"Goddamn it, John ... the Republicans are selling their soul to win elections ... Mark my word ... if and when these preachers get control of the party, and they’re sure trying to do so, it’s going to be a terrible damn problem." -- Barry Goldwater as told to John Dean

Sorry, but demographically speaking, the Republican Party has only one, maybe two decades left, and then they will become completely irrelevant.

Hmm.... OK, then sit back shut up and watch it happen.

Stop warning them! Let them roll off the cliff you jackasses!

That is if you actually believe what you say.... bc personally I think your all full of shit, but that just me... one man and his opinion. :dunno:

That's only true if the party doesn't change, which is not the way to bet. They faced a similar catastrophe in the 1930s, but 20 years later the party made a complete comeback by throwing most of its former principles to the wolves. It was pretty much unrecognizable by then, but it did win the White House in 1952.

The smart money is on a replay.

Sadly, Ron Paul is too old, and way to naive to run the country. While I agree with a lot of what he says, I would not put our national security at risk by following the extremely naive views of Libertarians.

Shame though.

One thing I can say on behalf of Ron Paul?

At least if RP is the GOP's candidate, there will be a clear choice between the D and R candidates.

What happened to the Rpublican Party?

The same thing that happened to the Democratic Party.

They became lapdogs and enablers for an elite group of financiers and international banksters that have practivally bankrupted WESTERN CIVILIZATIOn

Only difference between a war mongering liberal and a liberal is one is a republican. You can eat your global empire for dinner, cause I am sick and tired of footing the bill for the profits of international corporations.

And so has everyone else.

Are you trying to say that Ron Paul is a reactionary extremist???

Is that what we call proposing a balanced budget and a consistant voting record these days?
