What fuels the Big Government crowd...

Corporate welfare has been going on 4 a loooong time. The Bushwhacker admin got it going from warm to hot tho, then Obama & Company shifted it into high gear!

...the most in your opinion? Below is a few suggestions I put out for you to pick from. Feel free to add your own suggestion(s)/input...

1) Strength in number?

2) Hopes of permanent government employment?

3) Welfare programs/free ride?

4) Social programs/social security etc?

5) Hopes of political power?

6) Light workload for big pay?

7) Government worship of the collective whole?

8) Union protection/can't be fired?

9) Lucrative retirement?

10) All of the above?

I think what fuels big government more then anything else is welfare for corporations. Take this latest example of giving banks control of food stamps in several states. These banks are making hundreds of millions of dollars each month off of this government program.

This is just one example. The common misconception is that the 'social safety net' is the problem, but the real problem is all the corporations that have there dirty fingers in the treasury. Federal money for the department of agriculture (which is where foodstamps come from) is like 1% of the federal budget. Not exactly the big elephant in the room, pun intended.

...get BIG government??? New Constitution won't sail. Need to enforce the one we got by shrinking BIG government back to it's original intent. Open your eyes up, pull out the ear plugs, quit playing follow the government entitlements game & learn to be responsible 4 yourself!

There is no such thing as "the big government crowd."

Less Government is the logical way forward. And it's not just because of their insane spending. Less Government means more Freedom & Liberty for all Americans. That alone should convince more Americans to get onboard with smaller Government. The Nanny State/Police State is no paranoid conspiracy theory. It's real and it's growing more powerful by the day. So go with less Government. It's the right way to go.

Isn't protecting the people from predators, social justice? Predators don't just wear ski masks. They also wear three-piece suits.

No. protecting you from predators is justice. "Social justice" is where the government becomes the predator.

None of the above.

Correct.

What the right mistakes as ‘big government,’ or advocacy thereof, is merely a pragmatic, realistic understanding that the government is no larger nor no smaller than it’s supposed to be. We have the government we have because we are a First World, industrialized, modern superpower.

Indeed, the size of our government was inevitable given the progress of the American civilization.

Size of government is irrelevant, therefore, it is neither ‘good’ nor ‘bad,’ it is only a tool of administration, made up of Americans serving Americans.

The ‘size’ of government is also irrelevant in the context of the rule of law, to which all components of the government are subject. The rule of law protects our civil rights, prevents abuse of power, and ensures no American is subject to the tyranny of the majority.

Consequently, it has noting to do with social programs, ‘light workload,’ ‘worship of the collective whole,’ or any other similar idiocy.
