OK THAT is funny - in a sad-because-some-folks-believe-it sort of way. But a couple of mushroom clouds DID save a lot of lives back in the 40s. I truly believe they did. But nuclear weapons today are just a deterrent or a global disaster depending on how they are handled. imho.

Most today find words encouraging, but when results fail to follow - most recognize those words as empty.
Take "compassionate conservativism" and "contract with America" for example. Those words inspired many - but when the results didn't match the words, they turned away. If Obama's words fail to be followed by results, I think the same thing will happen - most will turn away.
