Great sport.

But the NHL season is too long.

It would be more interesting if they cut the schedule in half, and played the games on consistent days like football and soccer do.

I've been to a game or two of pro ice hockey in person.

Not really exciting.

Does not compare with NFL football or NBA basketball.

Tonight at 9 pm EDT (4/3/2017) is the NCAA BBall championship game, which is exciting to watch and also better than ice hockey.

In the USA ice hockey usually does well in term of attendance where they don't have anything else, such as MLB baseball, NFL football, or NBA basketball.

In Canada and in Russia, ice hockey is a big deal of course.

My 10 year old grandson plays it and is pretty good and that's about it for me.

I like baseball and the CUBS.

It's in soccer only They have speical zones in hockey.

Baseball has that same problem.

The NFL gets Sundays Mondays and Thursdays.

The MLB should stick to Fridays and Saturdays when their seasons overlap.

Same for the NBA.

NBA and ice hockey need to split the winter on a regular basis.

MLB and soccer need to split the spring and summers.

All the others should be finished by the time the fall and NLF begin.

There is too much overlap right now as seasons have crept longer and longer.

It's better than soccer.....

Ice hockey is better than soccer because it is faster than soccer.

Soccer is a kids' game anyway. They get to play and they get exercise.

This prepared them for track, football, and basketball later when they have grown up more.

But the cup is only every 4 years -- next one 2018.

That takes too long.

4 years is a good model for Olympics.

But NOT a good model for pro sports of any other kind.

The only time I really paid attention to soccer was that Lance Donovan was from our town in the day then.
