What do you think is the strongest draw toward Socialism in our country lately?

By far the strongest draw towards socialism in our country today is the GOP, which took Reagan's "government is the problem" speech line and turned into gospel.

Trumpsters should be receiving Thank You cards from the socialists for all the help they're providing, with their shallow, simplistic, binary thinking regarding socioeconomics.
You believe Reagan was advocating FOR Socialism in his speech AGAINST government intervention into socialized medicine? That doesn't make sense unless you are deliberately pulling his "government is the problem" statement out of context and misrepresenting what he was saying.
Um, no, he was advocating for the opposite, essentially a libertarian approach to government.

How you got what you got from that is a mystery.
.

Reagan is the one who really started us off towards our massive debt.

The misconception that you don't have to pay for anything...which also comes under ignorance.

When will you start paying for the wars and Trump's bail outs?

Right after you start paying for Obama's wars and bail outs....idiot.

I didn't support either......still don't.

I see, so because you didn't support any of them, you don't need to pay? If you loons ever get Medicare for all, free college, etc., etc. we'll see how much you support them when the bill comes due.

We've already covered that. Things don't need paid for.

I must have missed that, how will things get paid for?

They won't. I asked when we would start paying for the wars and Trump's bail outs. The answer was that we wouldn't.

Great question. I believe there are several answers.
IGNORANCE, IGNORANCE, and IGNORANCE!

Without a doubt the best reason for advocating socialism is that it pisses off conservatives!

They deserve it because they're too close minded (stupid?) to understand that there are huge differences between socialism and liberalism.

In fact, there are almost no real socialists in the U.S. - Bernie Sanders is NOT a socialist....but he is a sensationalist.

But hey, for as long as conservatives refuse to differentiate between the two, we'll keep on advocating 'socialism'...just to piss them off!

Oh look another thread where a bunch of people who wear a name tag to work will discuss a term that they don't understand.

Fascinating.

Oh look another post by a socialist beggar claiming the definition of socialism is complicated.

Definition of socialism

1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2a: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

Wow, good start. Let's see which of those are happening here or are even being proposed here.

1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods - NOPE
2a: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property - NOPE
b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state - NOPE
3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work - We are absolutely unequal in this country with the rich getting richer every single day.

Sigh...sorry to hear your reading skills are so piss poor.

Um no, Reagan's argument for government not intervening into healthcare is one and the same with the Libertarian fundamental principle of limited government. I don't think "Trumpsters" will be getting any thank you cards from socialists anytime soon.

Faux News!

Not one of the Democrats advocate for the change in our Constitution necessary to become a Socialist nation. Such a change could not be legislated.

Advocating for social programs in not a call to become a radical socialist nation.
Really?

yes, really.

It's true. Faux news has turned nearly all democrats into socialist. (According to a poll of Faux News Viewers.
Honestly, I made that up! )

It's funny, BL, to my father, being called a socialist was tantamount to being named a traitor. That could get you blackballed, your ass handed to you or worse. When I was a kid, being called a socialist was a dirty word that got you scorned, feared and shamed.

But then they got smart, renamed themselves "progressives" and using our free society laws, worked their way into positions that determined public policy and now today, they flout Socialism as if it were just another choice to a Representative Republic like either whole milk or skim.

Today we are among a different group, a group inspired by thirdworlders, a group that takes great pride in begging and in being someone else’s responsibility. They brag about being pet humans.

This fails as a straw man fallacy.

No one advocates for 'socialism.'
Ever heard of Bernie Sanders? Elizabeth Warren? Or any of the current Dem Presidential hopefuls? I didn't think so.

Ignorance isn’t a draw. The biggest draw is the wealthy gap and shrinking middle class. Another large draw is seeing the effects of automation. Less low wage jobs, higher profits for the rich... those are the things revitalizing socialism.

if you want to fight the movement effectively then you must first understand it.

It is IGNORANT for you to keep insisting that liberals want SOCIALISM when all most of us want is AFFORDABLE EDUCATION and AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE.

other than the roads that you use and the police and fire and military that you rely on we don't want SOCIALISM as in VENEZUELA!

we want SOCIALISM as in NORWAY.

and it bothers me that now that I have explained that to you you are going to IGNORE it completely and keep accusing me of wanting SOCIALISM like VENEZUELA
