What do Communist, Socialist mean?

Yes. Did you have a point in there somewhere?

Well then you will also know that liberals - of whatever sort - do not advocate central planning and a command economy.

Do you have a brain somewhere?

Not the classic liberal.

But then you wanted to set aside todays meanings so you could have a point.

Pathetic actually.

LOL!! "Classical liberal", code for "everybody for themselves and to hell with anyone that doesn't make it". I see a real "Hunger Games" scenario developing out of a libertarian world.

Everyone but dupe/cold war dinosaur/morons agree:

Communist: China, Cuba, N. Korea- totalitarian central planning, state owned everything, never democratic, always put in by revolution..

Socialist- France, Sweden Germany, ALWAYS democratic, some nationaliztion of industry NEEDED by people- health, energy- capitalism regulated to protect citizenry. "Social democrats".

Fascism- Corporate/dictatorship RW nationalistic/militaristic, often racist wackjobs lol.

I don't take offense easily, so I'm pretty cool, thank you.

I am well aware of the differing meanings given to the term liberal in a political sense. But nobody sane will equate a liberal - of whatever variety - with a Communist or a Fascist.

In fairness, the term liberal is abused. A true 'liberal' is a Libertarian.

21st century Liberalism, on the otherhand, is just a variation of a theme on the totalitarianism modes of government mentioned above.

And it always ends ugly.

LOL!!! Libertarianism is more like Marxism. Both require a basic shift in human nature to work.

Seems I have educated you well.

That's pretty ridiculous too. While socialist parties did play a role in France, Sweden, Germany, etc. it is ridiculous to classify these countries as socialist. They are in essence free market economies, with an elaborate welfare state.

Your definition of Fascism is pretty off too.

Do you understand the term incremental?

Sure, let the libertarians achieve any real power and we'll incrementally move to a new feudalism. :eusa_hand:

Freedom scares you......... Your first instinct..... fight........

How long will freedom last when government protections are nil and some of the strong start to prey on the weak, forcing them to make "agreements" for protection? Sure sounds like feudalism to me.

You communists like to reason that the only alternative to your central-planned control over people's lives is a feudal control over people's lives.

Which is why you think the Constitution is just a piece of paper.

Which it will be, if libertarians get there way. Government would be very limited and we'd have to look to other means to protect ourselves. How long before many are beholden to someone powerful and "tied to the land"?

Brainwashed loudmouth wackjob idiot.

Looks I struck a nerve with the Marxists.

LOL

Socialist? Communist? I often notice some of you extreme righties throw the invective, “communist” or “socialist” around. It looks like these invectives mean to you anyone to your left. If they mean something else, would one of you please explain to us what you mean by these?
So what would you prefer people to be called who believe nameless, faceless bureaucrats in far-off cities know better what you need and how to spend your money than you do?

Please enlighten us.

You seem to overlook respecting others rights.

Which doesn't surprise me.

Commies don't like to be called commies.

LOL

Precisely. In the meantime, virtually every leftist on this board--on this or that thread, at one time or another--has ascribed to virtually every sentiment expressed in The Possibility of Hope, a textbook river of Marxist drivel. Most leftists, however, the thoughtless go-alongs, don't rightly understand the political philosophy and thought processes of the classical liberal, nor do they comprehend the inevitable outcome of the worldview peddled by the elites they blindly follow.

Note, for example, how many of them stupidly confound classical liberalism with fascism. Talk about the invective of intellectual dishonesty and laziness! LOL! Many leftists are utterly unaware of the fact that fascism is essentially a leftist, socialist ideology of only a slightly different strip, in both its origins and nature, as that of Marxism.

But let's cut to the chase. Strip away the frail philosophical structures and modes of Marxist/fascist socialism--e.g., dialectic materialism or the organic national community--and one is left with a collection of slogans and epithets, rather than a coherent ideology.

Behold the monstrous designs of multicultural statists (leftists in general). Imagine the cataclysmic upheaval and the dystopian outcome their designs would impose upon us all in the real world, then consider the casual, matter-of-fact way in which they assert their convictions, utterly oblivious to the jaw-dropping insanity of their worldview:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwsBd6PizJY]The Possibility of Hope[/ame]

They insinuate that those among us who would resist their idiocy--the sane and sensible--are motivated by fear and ignorance, but mostly by fear, as they hysterically perceive a worldwide crisis that is not, albeit, one that would be were we to lay down our "fear" and just go along with their madness.

Inevitably, there is only one way to deal with the likes of persons who are so stupidly oblivious to the evil of their delusions: the business end of a loaded gun leveled at their pointed heads.

What rights would that be? Why do some rights outweigh others? Seems like libertarians can say you only get as many rights as you can pay for. You don't respect rights, just money and power. Don't care to be under your heel, thank you. The 20th century has taught us to be wary of totalitarian philosophies.

You really don't believe in inalienable rights and Constitutional freedoms when they get in the way of your 'greater good,' do you?

If they're nameless and faceless, it's because we've allowed others to be their masters, instead of US. If we're to be listened to, we need to be paying the freight. SUPPORT PUBLIC FINANCING OF ELECTIONS.

Libertarians have to obey the Constitution like every body else, particularly when they don't want to.
