What did Obama do with the billions from the Secure Fence Act

Remember when the then Sen. Obama and Sen, Schumer were talking about the Secure Fence Act of 2006, legislation authorizing a barrier along the southern border passed into law with the support of 26 Democratic senators including party leaders
Border_fence_vehicles.jpg

Sections of the fence on the Mexico border, like this one near San Miguel, Ariz., are designed primarily to stop vehicles.
In his speech in El Paso on immigration reform on May 10, 2011, President Obama declared "Mission Accomplished" claiming that the fence along the border with Mexico is "now basically complete." Obama had not done his job to finish the border fence that has been a critical part of keeping Americans safe and stopping illegal immigration.
Guess it all depends on the definition of fence/wall you use. In addition during 2009 when Democrats had the majority in both houses, the law was amended to read:
"nothing in this paragraph shall require the Secretary of Homeland Security to install fencing, physical barriers, roads, lighting, cameras, and sensors in a particular location along an international border of the United States, if the Secretary determines that the use or placement of such resources is not the most appropriate means to achieve and maintain operational control over the international border at such location."
DHS reported that there was now fencing for 649 of the 652 miles described in the Secure Fence Act of 2006. But the vast majority constructed with vehicle barriers and single-layer pedestrian fence. The original act specifically called for double-layer fencing, and only 36.3 miles of double-layered fencing currently exist. However, the act was later amended to allow the appointed Secretary Janet Napolitano of DHS the discretion to determine which type of fencing was appropriate for different areas.
What the original Secure Fence Act of 2006 required was a double-layer fence, and they didn't get much of it. And so Obama lied to the tax payers and Billions of taxpayer money disappeared or was squandered away in a big swindle.

Border fence has cost government $2.4 billion

How Congress Prevented Border Fence Law's Implementation | Investor's Business Daily
In 2011, addressing supporters in El Paso, President Obama jeered that Republicans "wanted a fence. Well, the fence is now basically complete." Audience members, as the official WhiteHouse.gov transcript shows, shouted "Tear it down!" and "They're racist!"... "Maybe they'll need a moat," the president added. "Maybe they want alligators in the moat. They'll never be satisfied."... What the president did in that speech was, put simply, to lie — claiming to have built the "fence" that Republicans enacted into law, without noting that he and his fellow Democrats in Congress changed it to require much less effective fencing.... Most of the fencing that Obama claims "is now basically complete" consists of vehicle barriers that people can easily hop over, or single-layer fences.

~~~~~~
It seems that although Senators Obama, Schumer and Clinton voted for 700 miles of double fenced border walls, once Democrats became the majority in Congress and Obama was elected the law was modified. The question remains: What happened to the Billions set aside for the construction of 700 miles of a double fenced border wall?
Knowing Trump he would have come in under budget for the $5 billion and built more border wall than Obama did in his 8 years in his squandering the funds with his purposefully failed attempt...… Or did those billions go into the pockets of the Dems?
The money went where the rest of Obabble's porkulus-style funding meant for shovel ready jobs actually ended up: unionized government bureaucrats, rent-seeking government cronies and money laundered campaign donations for the Dems.
We built all the fencing we needed ten years ago
Why do we need more ?
Because most of them were a joke.....and are now degraded.....but when that Great vote on it they Grandstanded on how they were going to secure the border with a Great Fence....and SAVE US ALL ..
Can we have a HALLALUAH.......AMEN brother.........then the election went to the Dems and they built a crap fence.....squandered fees from legal immigrant fees......to fund amnesty and lawyers for the immigrants.....a SLUSH FUND.........and nothing more.
Now........their tone has changed now hasn't it.....but hey they also got 789 billion to spend to SAVE US ALL......HALLALUAH.....AMEN.......didn't create many jobs but Dem areas got the LION'S share of it all...
LOL
Is Obama's $789 billion buying votes instead of jobs? - WND - WND
Wish people’s would get it that republicans want illegals just as much as democrats do.
Surely you are referring to the Republican politicians, not those who work for a living....
I especially mean the political ruling class. If I had to be honest, I know a shit ton of working democrats who want the sass, as well as other wetbacks.
Why would republicans want criminals roaming through their neighborhoods? Democrats ignore the crimes because they want the votes.
Because they want cheap labor for their campaign donors, and voters are to lazy to mow their own lawns. There is also the fact that republicans are always pushing amnesty.
